I'll always love the way Diana Ross sings this song. But Whitney's delivery is good, as well. She put her own style in it. This was a lot better than Whitney's delivery of "The Boss" on this same show.

@musicredshoes whitney may have sold more records but diana has sold more concert tickets. diana;s career began before mtv, itunes, and the world wide distribution markets of today so she didn't have the same options to sell as witchy or even others that followed. not to mentioned she sold millions of records that were not counted because Berry Gordy kept that info unlisted so he wouldn't have to pay his artists for their sells, diana sold in a hard environment and did very well.

Whitney should have recorded this cover version for her new album. She sounds fantastic. I love this song. This song was actually sung at her 1997 concert Live in washington D.C. at Constitution Hall (and Live on HBO) as a tribute to Lady Diana and some other famous people who had just passed. This song was later cut out of the re-airs of the concert on later dates on HBO. They cut out some parts I think to make it shorter.

As soon as this song fell off the charts for Diana Ross, guess what song entered the Hot 100? You Give Good Love! To me, this song was Miss Ross's Last Hurrah in the US (She did have a UK #1 with Chain Reaction in early 1986, and continue to hit in Europe as late as 2005). I just LOVE to play You Give Good Love after Diana Ross's Missing You; it brings back memories of that "Diva Transition".

@dastaylor Diana was recognised by the Guiness book of records for being the best selling artist of all time. And yes Whitney is in a league of her own called.... "The how could I kill my voice and reputation" league!

@Patrickibens Whitney is CURRENTLY the most Awarded Female Artist of all time and has most certainly outsold Diana Ross by now even with the Supremes records thrown in...
And Diana's league is "The How could I Become an Alcoholic and be completely irrelevant," league.
