What would have been an even better video is seeing how they loaded that thing on the trailer with that broken track! And the chains were probably were a law abiding move - as stupid as it is/sounds.
@ShafiqMaaskamp you want to talk about smart! notice how i spell REALLY thats right two L's oh yeah HUH one H and by the way do you think it is common practice for me to put HAHA after every sentence? or do you think that maybe it was a joke? you decide
@mingopetro maby cuz im not english u dumb nerd, i live in amsterdam and we talk dutch out here, you should talk dutch and lets see who's spelling wrong, you dont even know 1 word in dutch so at least you shut up.
@ShafiqMaaskamp the original comment i made was a joke obviously at least 3 other people understood that, you keep telling me how stupid i am when in fact you may need to look in the mirror but i am sure you will keep leaving childish comments and proving my point. as for me not speaking dutch you can flikker op!
@ShafiqMaaskamp thank you on the congratulations, even though it was two words and i would like to congratulate you on contunuing to prove my point on your ignorance with all the name calling, however if calling me names helps you feel better about all your insecurities than i guess i am ok with that.
@krdans Easy there, Billy. We're talking about big trucks, not Fords and Chevies. Any truck will do the job if you spec it out right. WesternStar, Kenworth, Peterbilt and Freightliner are all just swell trucks; the new Detroit Diesel can do circles around Paccar's new motor line up.
@circusboy90210 While what you said is completely true, you have to factor in that the truck manufacturer builds and manufacturs the components for the engine. Emmision control systems, for example, are components built by the truck manufacturer that can have a dramatic effect on the performance of the truck. We had a 2008 Volvo (Volvo 13L engine, 10 spd fuller) on the fleet until early last year, and he was on the hook 5 or 6 times (Volvo 13L engine, 10 spd fuller) in the 2 years it was here
@mannwhosoldtheworld (con't). We have had trucks from all different brands working with us, all within similar specs and this Volvo had been the worst by far. As a rule, the older the truck, and the less the manufacturer had a hand in anything to do with the motor, the better the trucks tend to be.
@mannwhosoldtheworld this is anti common sense. one would tend to feel that as component and subcomponent manufactureres deal in a more intimate manner with the final integrator to fit these unit's together in a symphony of mechanical operation , these units would operate better not worse. please eludicate.
@circusboy90210 Common words weren't good enough for you? My vocabulary isn't nearly large enough to accomodate the words in your post or how you used them. If you wish to simplify and quit talking like a cunt, I'd be more than happy to discuss this.
@mannwhosoldtheworld What you are trying to say, in simplified terms, is that because component manfufacturers work with the truck manfufacturers, it means everything should work better? That really has nothing to do with what I am saying. Perhaps you need to open your eyes and read before you reply to me.
@mannwhosoldtheworld how is it that the more sophisticated the truck the less reliable?? makes no sense at all. these are defenatly more reliable than the trucks dad drove in the 70's. please explain. common words do not always explain the nuances a person feels about the subject.
@circusboy90210 Simple is better, I thought this was common sense. Ask any truck driver or diesel mechanic in North America what he thinks of new trucks, and he'll tell you he'd take a pre-2003 truck over a new truck any day. (non-owner/operators don't count. They don't have to pay for repairs) Trucks themselves have been improving since the 70s, but the improvments were done by the engine manufacturer and the truck manufacturer separately. They were building subsystems for [cont
@circusboy90210 each other. Anyways, the point of what I said earlier stands true. What we are talking about now is not pertinent to what was originally said.
The Engine, Trans and Driveline are what is important, but the truck shell is just as important as the systems manufactured by the truck brand could be very good or very bad. There is a reason you see far less old sterlings or volvos on the road today than other trucks.
@mannwhosoldtheworld yes to a certain extent simpler is better but more parts also means less strain for each part. quality control plays a larger part in this, freightliner shipping jobs to mexico does not assist in this at all. sterlings are awesome, I prefer the kenworth myself if I were to purchase an over the road. probably going to end up doing fed ex custom critical here sson & am saving up my money as we speak. don't know if I want to do 18 wheel or straight truck.
@circusboy90210 18 wheel. If you can get that job, then you always have a job in the future. It's often difficult for straight truck guys to move into 18 wheelers.
More parts doesn't necessarily mean less stress, because the parts that are being added aren't necessary. The Driveline pretty much has the same amount of parts, be it a 1996 Peterbilt or a 2012 Volvo, or a 1956 Mack. They've gotten better, no doubt, but I'm referring to all the extra emissions shit and what not.
@mannwhosoldtheworld allready have driven 18 wheelers trying to figure out which get's more revenue. from what I've learned about this situation is the straight truck does not carry as much freight but get's there faster and hauls higher dollar commoditys. yes emissions parts cause more fuel to be burned and hence the emissions remain about theh same anyhow. the dpf is a good thing thougn if used properlly.
@circusboy90210 Yeah they should have stopped at the DPF filter imho, but oh what, what can you do. The EPA and American Government has their mind set on holding our hands and wiping our asses for us.
I'm an owner operator right now, and I'm actually considering moving to hourly-pay local flatbed work for a paving company, or joining the Armed Forces as an MSE OPs truck driver. There's too much bullshit with OTR anymore.
@mannwhosoldtheworld the epa has no real concerns for our environment or they would allow all waste to be considered a commodity instead of demanding it be buried or destroyed. everything has a value , even human shit. the problem is connecting the waste with the buyer.
I'm going to do fed ex custom critical or get back into bed bugging, as an owner/operator. government intervention hurts many industry's, then wonders why china looks so nice in comparison.
@mannwhosoldtheworld si , custom critical also operates 18 wheelers (or class 8 trucks if you like) in their operations. it can pay more than bedbugging by far and way less work as far as touching the freight . I like bedbuggin because it's like a paid workout and you get to meet people that have money and can invest into other ideas.
