Why does it seem like the graphics for the metroid games are getting worse? The graphics in Metroid Prime are soooooo much better and that came out YEARS ago. I'd be impressed if these were the graphics for the DS but come on. It seems the gamecube has more power than the wii does.

@darkmankill1 This is quite true. I just hate when a game series gets worse in graphics, but you're right. The gameplay is the most important aspect of any game. I just hope they didn't screw up the game play with the new 3rd person player perspective. I personally thought 1st person worked beautifully for Metroid Prime.

The great thing about Other M is that it's fully in a 3D explorable environment like all the best Nintendo 3D games (Mario, Zelda, Star Fox, Goldeneye).

That which does not convince me is that the game overall feels oriented towards a much younger audience judging by the simplistic design of the backgrounds (flowers, trunks, corridors) and the funny pokemon-looking like enemies...

I expected a much darker tone from this one...

@FPietros Don't worry, I doubt the game, which has a 16+ Rating in Europe, (I think it's europe...) is meant for kids.

@Hughesta74 It still looks very simplistically drawn (at least from the stages I 've seen thus far) and I seriously doubt that in Europe it's going to receive a 16+ age rating...

However, I 'll keep my hopes up till the first reviews show up.

More extreme bad language, the concept of the use of tobacco and drugs and the depiction of criminal activities can be content of games that are rated 16.

Not much to go on, just a rating description, and this doesn't exactly mean it's Dark, like Echoes was, but it at least seems it will be more violent then your average Metroid.

@Hughesta74 Thank you Captain Obvious for copying&pasting what the "PEGI 16" means, yet it was completely unnecessary since it's, well, pretty obvious.

Moreso, what do you mean by "average Metroid"? There is an exact and select number of Metroid games made and the only really good ones up to now would be the Prime trilogy and Super: they were dark and atmospheric enough to go. The Other M doesn't look very mature. THAT is my worry regarding the game. I expected a creepier tone from this one.

To me this game sounds like the sequel to Super metroid with a similar gameplay, a plot story after the super one i am gonna a buy a wii again because some awesome game are coming.

@rikuosora im not saying chronologicaly , im saying ththat super metroid s sequel (metroid 3 1994) is metroid fusion (metroid 4 in 2002). maybe metroid other m is metroid 5

It is because the event's on Zebes have already happened according to the trailers, and their are several hints that indicate Fusion hasn't happened yet (an obvious clue is the suit). With the nostalgic nature of the music I hope it will be as good as Super

0:41, oh my, i do wounder what is this baddies weak spot is, it couldnt be the big glowing red spot would it, that would be far to obvious and take away the challenge and fun

sarcasim aside this game looks like its going to be a tricky one, not in challenge as this is nintendo but from the looks of it their are 3 different styles going on, 2d, 1st person without being able to move and 3rd person 3d, and all of this is supposed to be done with just the wii remote...yikes
