I get an email every time a google spider discovers a new hit for the search engine that includes my selected keywords

It means that if someone makes a video about me an mentions my channel name in the description, title or tags I get an email about it to tell me as soon as the google crawler adds it to the search engine database.

Hey dude, I'm thinking of doing a really long one with footage inserted at random location in the vid to make sure they have to watch and re-watch it over and over to make sure they can DMCA it or not! Or would it be better to make many short ones?
