Can you put some tape down and die half of a wheel? would that work? say I want to do a half gold, and half black? or would I be better off to just dye a white wheel gold. and the hold the wheel in the dye jut to the point I want black??
Its Easter Time. Looks exactly like what I was doing with eggs a few days ago LOL. I wonder if this will work for eggs too. Also vice versa if my egg dye will dye my hobby parts. LOL
I sent my gf to buy this dye but target didn't have it so she bought me a different brand names tulip that required 4 tb salt added and guess what it didn't stick at all and all my
Parts were cleaned throughly with that la awesome cleaner lmao
@sp5201 It's called RIT dye, it's a coloring powder normally used for clothes, t-shirts and so on. If you're in Europe, you can either use some other coloring powder you find in your local supermarket (some might, some might not work), or you can buy it from eBay.co.uk fairly easily and cheaply.
@kseries Sure does, done it many times! You just have to be sure to clean the parts very thoroughly as any oil or grease will act as a mask and repel the dye.
@waiheepride Definitely not recommended, as the water would get inside and soak the foam inserts, and then it's nearly impossible to get it out without removing the tires.
@hasek1616 Haven't heard of any such thing yet. The problem is that the color of black parts is generally a dye itself, and it goes all the way through the plastic.
Id just like to point out something about what you said regarding dying chrome, it can be done and can make some neat effects. Like that sunrise yellow makes chrome look like gold plating. Just something to think about, otherwise great video as always Jang.
@aznkytran Yeah as I mentioned right in the beginning of this video, these Pro-Line Wabash wheels right here were originally chrome. I stripped them with acetone (seen in a previous video I did). As SECustomRC mentioned, though, RPM's chrome wheels take dye very well and create some beautiful shiny metallic colors.
@TRXRunner Nope like I said in the video, you can only dye things to darker than they are. You can go from white to anything, but black is already as dark as you can get, so you can't go lighter.
@TENNESSEERULES619 but it will chip off eventually, when you use dye it goes into the plastic and even when you scratch it then it will still be that color.... i think :)
do tires come in different colors than black
