I believe they are both different, Pastor Winans is called full time in the ministry and he showed his commitment to God. But Vicky is a Gospel singer who does not feel the burden of the ministry. She apologizes today, it is good, but really it was not her fault to leave, she could not force what she can't do. No one can force to be in the ministry without God's call, otherwise it is not going last.

@tyn833 I think you have missed the whole lesson. Vicki was simply telling you how she was at that time, how she didn't support him and the assignment God gave her husband, the way she should have. But later, she realized the consequence of her selfish behavior. She said she still should have been their, next to him, raising their family, encouraging, mentoring and building the church. For that, she humbly asked for forgiveness. She demonstrated exactly what God desires from us.

CORRECTION: In the Christian faith, led by Jesus Christ, a man should only have ONE wife. Anything apart for this, indicates marital rebellion on the part of one or both people of the marriage.
This is true according to the gospel of Jesus and WE KNOW it is true for people who preach the gospel or sing gospel music. Otherwise, they're useless.

I believe they are both different, Pastor Winans is called full time in the ministry and he showed his commitment to God. But Vicky is a Gospel singer who does not feel the burden of the ministry. She apologizes today, it is good, but really it was not her fault to leave, she could not force what she can't do. No one can force to be in the ministry without God's call, otherwise it is not going last.
However, her attitude is great, God bless you Vicky!

@tyn833 I think you have missed the whole lesson. Vicki was simply telling you how she was at that time, how she didn't support him and the assignment God gave her husband, the way she should have. But later, she realized the consequence of her selfish behavior. She said she still should have been their, next to him, raising their family, encouraging, mentoring and building the church. For that, she humbly asked for forgiveness. She demonstrated exactly what God desires from us.

Yes, she can. The definition of true repentance means to have remorse about bad actions. Once someone has remorse, then they are ENTITLED to forgiveness. Forgiveness removes the sting of bad actions and welcome back loving actions. She vowed to be his wife FOR LIFE. I have such great admiration, love and respect for the way Vickie humbled herself and walked in the ministry of reconciliation . Here, she demonstrates what the Cross was all about: giving up your right to BE right for a much greater purpose. So many lessons to be learned here...so many precepts and principles. I cry every time I watch this clip...and pray to accept God's grace to be just as transparent if I ever find myself needing to repent to the Body of Christ. She is truly a big girl!
