You know, it's funny to read comments from wannabe's, geeks and internet tuffies acting like they know... you really don't. to compare the SEALS, DELTA, SAS is just like asking one to figure which shade of green you should obey to move from a stop light. You didn't know anything about DEVGRU or SEAL Team 6 until some of their members were killed... you didn't know just how effective Delta was until you saw the unit... and you didn't know how lethal SAS was until you saw the video on youtube...
Alright both the SAS and the SEAL's are extremely highly trained and deadly special forces. Comparing the two is stupid because the actual info available on either is so limited and most of it is outdated. The reason that SEAL's are MOST LIKELY a better unit is because they have participated in more high profile operations and pioneer many tactics that are adopted by the SAS and other SF's. Don't leave out Delta either, they are as good as SEAL's just a lot lesser known
@Cain9453 Delta is extremely elite, they are the same level as DEVGRU (Seal Team 6). SAS is at the same level as the SEAL's, they just don't have the same flexibility as SEAL's due to the fact that their water training is limited, especially when compared to units such as Royal Marines and SBS.

Are you delusional SEALS run 5 mile runs at various times during the day. Usually in gear on the beach, and alternating carrying the team mates plus PT, etc.
Its always been said that British Royal Marine Commandos are trained to the same level as US Special Ops, And its a know fact SAS will never be knocked off the number 1 spot. Heart breakers, life takers.

If your dad was an Army Ranger, I can assure he did not train any SEALs. What a fucking joke... Ranger school is not nearly as hard as SEAL training, you can't possibly compare the two. 60 days compared 12 months of training? @deserteagle511 Only if you want to be an officer, but a college degree is recommended because most SEALs have one. Are you planning on going for the SEAL contract?
@SuperBrokenfoot You may have to rethink, Naval Academy grads get slots first in SEALs.. In each BUD/s class, approximately only 6-8 officers are in each, and competing aganist the Nation to become a SEAL officer is hard as hell. If you go NROTC or OCS, you may have to wait like 2-3 years to even get a slot in BUD/s as officer. Remember, once you fail BUD/s as officer, no way to get go back to BUD/s under no circumstance. If it's not about the money, go in as enlistee. Like me.
@SturmNDH89 No I'm not in BUD/s yet, but I'm sure I'll be there in 2011 :). I had scholarship to NROTC but I rejected it. Go talk to your recruiter, STUDY FOR ASVAB AND PST. When you go to MEPs, DO NOT tell anything about your physical/mental problems you had as kid, you will get DISQUALIFIED. Lie and hopefully you don't get caught. For ASVAB, there is two ways to ace ASVAB for SO rating for SEALs. I don't have enough space to write, I'll message you later for the score you need.

No they are not a part of the Navy. All branches of the Military are able to join the elite squad if they are good enough. The only reason they are called NAVY Seals are because of the UDT. Which stands for Underwater Demolition Teams which was first introduced in WW2, and found themselves doing more unconventional warfare. Hence why the name they chose SEALS (Sea, Air, Land). Learn your history retard.

@thalius7 you can go from whatever branch to whatever branch u want, you just have to serve your time, u can go from the navy for 2 years to the airforce, or any other branch, they have nothing to do with eachother a NAVY seal can go to say, the army, and ranger school if they wanted, but they would now be a ranger, seals are in the NAVY... you train at the NAVY special warfare center in coronado, california, they are in the navy, and SEALs were created in vietnam to combat the gorilla warfare

Dude the SEAL's came into action, to help the marines in WWII after a whole lot of the got killed because there landing craft got caught up on coral, they work together, marines can do stuff SEAL's can not, and visa versa.

No they are not a part of the Navy. All branches of the Military are able to join the elite squad if they are good enough. The only reason they are called NAVY Seals are because of the UDT. Which stands for Underwater Demolition Teams which was first introduced in WW2, and found themselves doing more unconventional warfare. Hence why the name they chose SEALS (Sea, Air, Land). Learn your history retard.

@thalius7 you can go from whatever branch to whatever branch u want, you just have to serve your time, u can go from the navy for 2 years to the airforce, or any other branch, they have nothing to do with eachother a NAVY seal can go to say, the army, and ranger school if they wanted, but they would now be a ranger, seals are in the NAVY... you train at the NAVY special warfare center in coronado, california, they are in the navy, and SEALs were created in vietnam to combat the gorilla warfare

Dude the SEAL's came into action, to help the marines in WWII after a whole lot of the got killed because there landing craft got caught up on coral, they work together, marines can do stuff SEAL's can not, and visa versa.
