id rather want the 2nd battery, its fast and doesnt start fires, but id get the lithium one if i had a a place to charge it outside and also if i was rich
This term was coined in airplane circles when it was discovered that a 1000mAh lipo pack would actually give longer flight times than a 1000mAh NiMH pack. You would think a mAh is a mAh, and that the battery chemistry doesn't matter, but it actually does! The reason why is two-fold. Speed controls work by sending very short pulses of full power to the motor. When one battery has a lower internal resistance than another, it maintains a higher voltage during the
part2 during the speed controls pulses, and the actual throttle level required to maintain the same speed is lower. In addition, LiPos have a much higher surface charge due to their different chemistry, and can regenerate that charge faster than NiMH cells after each pulse. So again, the observed effect is a lower throttle level to achieve the same speed/power with a NiMH pack, which allows the LiPo pack to run significantly longer than its rated capacity would suggest. It's strange but true!
Don't forget that if you go to a 10 cell NimH you'll go faster than the 11.1 Lipo I'll be running 12 cells Nimh when I convert my LST Truggy to BL, that's 14.4 volts. It's just the voltage hike that makes the car faster. Although the Lipos may run a little longer, their overall life is shorter. And they can be way more expensive. ;-)
That is incorrect. 10 cell is not faster then a 3s lipo. I ran 14 cells on my emaxx and then i switched to a 3s. The 3s was way faster. And lipo's have a longer battery life then nimh battery's do. Not to mention they are lighter also. Check my videos and you'll see the difference.
hey nice video quick question im getting one of these tomorrow with the max amp batteries what did you do there with your finger when you connected the last battery?
definitely getting a lipo battery thanks nice video...

@hokieman97
You have to use the proper charger for lipo batteries or else they WILL blow on you

i was turning the 'low voltage detection on' cause the last battery was a lithium polymer (lipo)

i have a 3s lipo battery too and they are crazy fast!!!!!!!!!!
