im 13 years old and i got 34:21 on this workout but it was without a vest. ive done this workout alot in the 7 months ive been doing crossfit and id have to say this is one of my favorites.
Used to run long distance. And just started crossfit. Tried murph today. I ran with a 20lb vest but didn't do the workout with it....and now I'm dead haha.
@WingdPuma kipping pullups will never replace dead hang pullups. Dont lie. Dead hang requires much more strenght, while in kipping its just momentum, not strenght itself
@smoku46 This is a benchmark WOD so any form is ok as long as the same form is used every time you do it. You track improvement. If you can dead hang a murph, then I tip my hat to you. Just don't hate.
murph is one of the few crossfit workouts i can do well. im better at the calisthenic shit. i did a 45:35 with my 20 lb flak jacket. im not good with the weight shit lol

I believe you dude, i've watched videos of kids that are like 10, and they can do some of the workouts better than adults. It's amazing that you can do that with any weight on, i love this workout. Keep it up, Crossfit is the shit.
God I love Murph. Such a brutal work out for such an awesome hero. Haven't done it with weight yet, but my bare time is 33 and some change doing 10rounds of 10/20/30.

they are called Kipping pullups. Crossfit decides to use them becasue they are better for full body coordination, and more gymnastic.
Although they are the standard, some strength workouts do have you do strict pullups
