  • I recently just rebonded my hair and not at the salon though. I tried it once in my hometown but my mom recently came back from my hometown and bought me the things you need for rebonding and I did so this is my 2nd time. It kind of scared me when you said hair falling out. If I had known that the first time I ever rebonded my hair at the salon I would have never done it... I'm so scared now.

  • im sure you get this all the time, and i have no patients of looking thru pages of comments, but how much would it cost to get ones hair rebonded? my hair is super thick about mid chest length and HUGE! im not talkin kinky, but huge effing barrel curls the size of baseball bats. it makes my head look like it would struggle to fit thru most doorways.

  • I felt sleepy while watching your video, but it was good. It was very informative. Thanks! :)

  • haii!! what if u have ur hair dyed and then rebonding it after?

  • is it more unhealthy than straightenning your hair again

  • hye,okayhh.great tips i've had.

okayh,u know.sometimes, people do abhor with their natural hair.

hmph.i mean, maybe they doesn't like to have their hair to be curly or wavy.

so,like.what other hair styles can they make rather than rebonding and straightening which totally chemicals for our hair growth??

    i need opinion for this.thanx dear ~

  • would you recomend if i get my hair rebonded then i want to dye my bottom half of my head blonde! :) i have black hair.

  • hi im 11 years old. and i got a rebond 2 times. 2009 and 2010. and i felt that rebond that they gave me was very very safe :D but make sure ur hair isnt coloured hair. it will be bad if u have coloured hair. but the rebond is 100 % sure. my rebond lasts for over a year. and it doesnt do that much damage. just as long as u take care of ur hair :D

  • @micahjane18

    Hi Micah.

What kind of Hair Rebond chemicals did they use on your hair? Korean, Loreal, or PMB?

    Thanks

  • @nizamaraco they used loreal on mine :P

  • @micahjane18 hi , just asking . Do you have long hair ? If you do , how do you keep yr hair up ?

  • I was thinking of getting this done. I was wondering where the best place to get it done was and I hadn't thought of china town or the area in Orlando where there are a lot of Thai stores. TY!

  • dont EVER do rebond. i tried it for the first time when i went to the Philippines and i regret -___- stick with iron and use heat protectant instead! and dont bleach as well.

  • @asenboyz are u sure ? i got mine @ the phils. 2 times. and it was great! u prolly got a bad service

  • hmmmm i had straight hair when i was young.... then my hair become kinda wavy but i still got straight hair at the back lolz and once i had my hair chemical straightened in the philippines and it was fine cause they added something that makes my hair soft and they added something soft :D

  • i have a chemical straightiner a few days ago but, can i swim with one, im just worried the chlorine will do something to my hair

  • I was going to do that, but thanks to this vid I changed my mind. plus I think women dig my waves ^.^

  • can you rebonding a straight hair to be more straight

  • When I was real young, I had my hair chemically straightened about 3 or 4 times, in a span of 3 years, with a chemical that was designed for black people''s hair.

The last time I decided to chemically straighten it was like 5 years ago, and my scalp felt like it was on fire, not to mention I didn't fully rinse it all out which resulted in my ears being eaten up with scabs. In other words, I was careless.

It's also my blame for my hair thinning at the top of my scalp.

  • @retrohippie aaaw u poor thing! i'm so sorry that happened to u! just remember we all make mistakes! were only human!

  • i always use flat iron to my hair, thats why its very damaged now...is it okay dat i will rebond my hair...??is it safe for my hair??

  • does chemical straightening effect the hair thats already grown or hair that grows out? cuz i had a chemical straighten last june and i was wondering if i grow my hair out, will it be curly??

  • First of all, thanks for the video. I have wavy hair and get my hair straightened every four months. But last week I got it straightened after 1 1/2 month cause it wasn't done well. But now my hair is falling off like crazy. I'm scared of be honest. Do you think my hair will regrow or are these permanent hair loss? Thanks.

  • I just got my rebonded,

and I washed it after 4 days.

It was very straight after I washed it, but when it dried (cool blow-dried), my hair was kind of frizzy and brittle-ISH. it was still soft, but not flat.

Would flat ironing be a bad idea?

  • your hair look lovely.=)If ur hair is thining,is it advisable to go rebonding?

  • @duperman172 personally i would not do it, because my hair is really fine, but if u have strong hair, then it shouldn't be to bad. Just make sure you go for a consult in a salon before you do it

  • Hi~ I have a question um Im sorry because I know this is on TR but do toy happen to know if its ok to dye Bio ionically straightened hair? Just because I dyes my hair orange before I got it done know my roots are black> Sorry again I know its kind of irrelevent.

  • is it like the brazilian keratin treatment?

  • hello..

    i've just rebond my hair...

    it's realy weird...it looks flat..

how many days this flat shape will last?

the hairstyler said it will look normal after 4 days without washing my hair..,

  • Like the vid, i have a question though, Is it safe to continualy rebond you hair after the rebonding wears off?

  • your hair has probably been through alot of chemical damage! that means color won't stay in ur hair very well cus it's lost protein. The best thing to do is give ur hair a rest from colour, and give ur hair some deep intense conditioning, I'm talking about the one that u leave in ur hair for half n hr. do this about 2 - 3 times a week until ur hair starts feeling healthier.

  • can you give the name of the mask (the 1st one) I mean the right spelling lol !?

And do you know if I can get it online?!

  • How can you prevent our hair from damaging after rebonding? Pls Reply :) THnx

  • I have used Lakme Teknia straight shampoo and god it the best shampoo for chemically straightened hair as its specially formulated for this. also its has ceramide which will repair your hair and prevents if from drying.i have done rebonding and my hair is still shiny and silky just because of this shampoo, the conditioner.

  • My hair had been dyed fairly close to when I chemically straightned my hair. When I put the staightner in it took my color out so I washed it out that day. Ever since i washed it out i've had this sticky gooey-ish feel in parts of my hair and when I brush through it, it breaks at the roots. I've been using loads of conditioner for the past week but it's still there. Tips or suggestions would be lovely !

  • i was thinking of getting my hair colored with cellophane but i was nervous so i didn't push through..

they did tell me that cellophane is ok for rebonded hair...

  • so...can i dye my hair BEFORE the rebonding? would that be ok?

  • what do you recommend doing to newly rebonded hair? like caring for it

  • ive heard it takes like 5h but my hairdress does it all the time and she sais for my hair it will be like 1 hour! if uwant i can let you know how long it took for me when i get it doen next week :)

  • yes after rebonding u can spike your hair. I think the product that u are using should be fine.

  • thanks...

i want to ask one more question...

after rebonding...can i make the spiky style?

also one more...my hair is straight right?,even its in dry state...

right now i am using wella hair straightener...when its dry..its curl, but when its wet or after shower its straight...are these product good for the hair?

i just want to make my hair spike but i don't want to trim my hair short...ok:)

  • well chemical straightening and rebonding is the same thing. My recommendation is if you want to spend less then go to those small asian salons, most of them do rebonding and they are way cheaper than those fancy salons

  • hello, i'm a boy from malaysian..my hair is curly/black hair...so,which is more better?

    chemical straight or rebonding?..

and i am realy low on budget...so, can u suggest me which is better or just keep my curly hair...actually i am realy sick of my hair that grow so fast n the curl with it...sory for da bad english..still student..he2

  • if you have hair that is above your shoulder(i.e. short) and you get this done properly, it will probably last a year i'd say but what i want to know is if you keep trimming the growing parts(the parts that grew after the chem straight process) will that affect your hair and cause it to recurl/go wavy again?

  • when new growth comes in, its your natural hair. so your ends will be straight and ur roots will be curly. When u cut off all the chemically straightened hair, your hair will be curly again.

  • thanx a lot :)

  • It depends on the condition of ur hair. I would do a consultation a salon first and have the hairstylist take a look at the condition of ur hair before u get it done.

  • i have done straighting but it doesnt look at all straight so m plannin to do in a better salon i knw..but then its only been four months.. can i go for it?? i cant wait any longer it doesnt look good at all.

  • Comment removed

  • also is it safe to colour you hair once you have had it done if so how long do you need to wait and if you are colouring before how much before should you do it??

  • actually i don't really recommend coloring ur hair after rebonding cus it can really damage you hair badly! You can risk it but i wouldn't if i were u. I've hear of some peoples hair falling off.

  • yeah u can still chemically straighten your hair even if u have split ends. Just make sure you do ur regular deep conditioning treatments.

  • is it alright to chemically straighten your hair if you have very badly split ends from heat damage from straightening?

  • "like getting plastic surgery, but for your hair."

Plastic surgery doesn't grow out. :/

  • Hi! well I got my hair "rebonded" about... almost a year ago. I got it done June of last year. Anyway.. after a few months.. I kinda regretted it because I missed and loved my wavy hair!

Well my question is... will my hair go back to being wavy?

After a months maybe like.. 8 months or something.. my hair wasn't as poker straight anymore and my hair was getting a tad bit wavy and now in it is wavier in the back.. but in the front.. it's still kind of straight..

    What will happen? Help

    Thank you

  • hi there! yah i can understand how u feel about regretting it. It's kinda like that saying, everyone wants what they can't have and once they have it they wanna go back. But usually, once u do a chemical rebonding, it's usually pretty permanent until the new hair grows out. The only thing u can do is let it grow out and cut the ends off.

  • I had mine done, and it went back to being pretty curly after about 2 or 3 months. But it never officially went back to what it was.

And another thing...my hair didn't look or feel damaged at all. It was great. :)

  • that's awesome!

  • hi =] i have straight hair but its thick and frizzy, i just wanted to know if its permanent or does it last for 6months to a year?

  • lasts about 6 months to a year, or until new hair grows back naturally...

  • yah a lot of them are permanent, depending on which type of chemical is used, it could last anywhere from 6 months to a year, but you will have some regrowth and that will ur natural hair, so it will be curly when it grows out

  • hi there! good question u asked. Some rebonding and permanant curl products may contain the same chemicals.

  • hi want to know f the chemicals they used for rebonding is the same as the one they use for curling..to curl? pls answere me asp.goodluck!!!godbless!!

  • after few years after rebonding will it be straight?

or will it be uglier ?

  • most of the time it stays straight, depending what kind of rebonding u had. But once ur roots start coming in then it start lookin kinda funny, but then u would just touch it up.

  • i dont know which type of chemical straightening my hairdresser did... but when i ahd it done she left it for 20 minutes and then washed it out and then she did kind of a creama nd washed it again

however my hair was wavy as natural but still it is natural! it just helps when i use the straightener instead of lasting an hour it last 30 mins.... but it isnt liek when i wash it , its really straight... did the hairdresser do something wrong?

  • hi there aly! from what i understand is that you had a chemical service done that still left your hair wavy? If this is true, then what you probably had done was just a relaxer, and what that does is just calm the curl down, it relaxes it making it less curly. If you want stick straight hair you need a rebonding or asian chemical straightening done. Let me know if you understand what i'm saying. thanks for the comment!

  • ohh yeha thx soo much!!! i understood you sow ell thx again:)

  • Hey!! Is there a difference between the treatments at the local filipino/asian salons vs professional salons like aura/regis?

  • Not necessarily, all treatments are different but have similar qualities and uses. Alot of filipino salons use hot oils and i find that sometimes its too harsh on the hair especially with people who are not asian. I would recommend getting treatments at pro salons cuz they use protein treatments which is what is needed when getting a treatment. You can also purchase protein treatments from salons. Regis ultimate repair is really good.

  • Oo0o Thanks for the reccomendation!

  • no prob girl..any time!

  • hey girl, my sister got hair rebonding, so after treatments do u recommend something like the joico protein treatment?

i myself use just professional products on my hair.. im so ANAL when it comes to that i think hair is like 30% ur beauty lol, i just switched from joico to redken i think the redken shampoo and conditioner is amazing, its so convenient that u can buy it at shoppers now lol :)

  • Yes, joico is a great brand to use, any professional product has a good treatment they offer. When reading ingredients always look for keratin or protein or even hydrolyzed silk. It's really great to be using pro products, it makes such a big difference. I will be making a vid coming up on just treatments cuz one thing people always about. Oh never buy pro products at drugstores cuz its not guaranteed the real product, its from the black market.
