Carpathian Forest could/should have been so much bigger. I ordered their 2 first demos back when they first came out and I listened to them over and over and over. In the early nineties CF was widely respected and considered to be one of the top bands in the underground/demo/tape trading scene. I was waiting and expecting CF to advance to the next level, but unfortunately time passed by and for reasons unknown to me CF was at a stand still. Other bands emerged and got record deals. 1/2

When CF finally got their shit together it in many ways was to late for them to reclaim the position of being a top tier. The scene had changed from being a underground phenomena to a genre recognised by the industry and consumers and CF was just another band in the eyes of those unfamiliar and unconnected with the early days. But for me and others that were around 15-20 years ago, Carpathian Forest is recognized and regarded as a pioneer and a true giant.
