A lot of stupid people here think the American version is better. This is what's wrong with horror nowadays. This ghost came crawling slow because she moved like all her bones were broken, while the American one just came down for...god i don't know why.

The American version misses all the small details that make it scary but stupid people don't like details. They like everything quick, loud and empty so they can get out of there and pretend they saw something good.

Yes, and the same guy that made Ringu also did "The Ring 2" i believe. And "The Ring 2" sucked. Also, the guy who made the Dutch version of "The Vanishing" also did the American remake, which sucked. It doesn't matter if it's the same director. American versions tend to miss all the little nuances of the originals, most likely because of the shorter attention spans or demand for things like like cynical endings.
