Maf sensors always f*ck you in your ass when you least expect it. My one just failed after picking up a milf. Doesnt make sense, didnt realise they could just die on you.
I'm not sure if you're taking the micky or not but there are genuine gains to be had with cleaning a dirty MAF. We picked up 10rwkw with one on ecotec!
@exportsail You most likely received a new MAF sensor, which can run in the $300 neighborhood all by itself. They should be simple to install, depending on which car you drive. This CRC spray does not address the electrical problems inside it's electrical box, which is probably more problematic than dirty maf wires.
I really hate advertisements that misrepresent the alternatives! Notice that when the "harsh cleaners" were used, the gloved technician was BENDING the plastic plate CAUSING the plate to snap. When they sprayed with the MAF cleaner, the tech barely flexed the plastic if at all.
I'm sure CRC MAFsensor cleaner is a fine product, but this video is a crock of crap!
I understand where you're coming from. The main purpose of this vid is to make people aware of MAF cleaning, which people IMHO don't do enough of! There are many other MAF cleaners on the market, CRC was only one with a MAF cleaning demo that we could find.
oo again i found an electrical component cleaner for circuit boards it dont leave any residue ,tried it on mine it was ok .

This is basically what the MAF clearer is from my understanding.

just replace your mass air flow is maybe begging you to replace him!!

If the down stream side of the air box (past the air filter) is immaculate, would my MAF really need to be cleaned?

@ysgeye1 Probably not, however it wouldn't be hard to undertake a visual inspection.

NO GLOVES = chemicals getting into your skin ,does this product eat plastic /rubber gloves ?

@oobuc5
Good question. I don't have the MSDS for this product so I can't say with absolute certainty if you need gloves or not. I would wear gloves though
