  • "have you never seen Jonathan Creek?" appearantly not

  • I must leave for France...

  • I can't pinpoint why but this clip is hilariously funny.

  • This has actually become an in-joke with my family... That's how much we've watched this.

  • Sometimes I just look this up when I'm bored or whatever... makes me happy xD

  • British humor never makes me laugh.

    Too dry.

  • @unionofonion See the QI clips about giant tortoises and the one about bees

  • @unionofonion oh come on, dont tell me you dont enjoy the odd sarcastic comment! Thats what us Brits do best :)

  • this one of the best qi moments ever, the timing and everything is perfect

  • Am I the only person who doesn't understand this?

  • I had to stifle my laughter at this, it being midnight and I don't want to wake up my family. It's hard to do!

  • but then, after Anne, no one was very miffed about NOT marrying King Henry the 8th

  • "You've clearly never seen Jonathan Creek."

  • @IoEstasCedonta

So that's where I've seen Alan Davies before. (I'm a bit out of touch in Australia!!)

  • @patrickcorliss East or west side? :P

  • @Mia646

I'm living near Bankstown in South-West Sydney on the East coast of Australia :)

It was reported on 6 Oct last year that that our Channel 7 digital bought the rights to Jonathan Creek and other popular British TV shows. I know that at least part of the series was broadcast here in Sydney a few years ago and I saw a few episodes at the time. Maybe it was on our public channel, ABC.

From memory I liked the puzzle of the how the crime was committed rather than who done it.

  • Heh, I thought Alan was great in Jonathan Creek!

  • This is one of my favourite moments from my favourite episode of QI. Sean Lock is the funniest man alive.

  • @pernillablomkvist

haha yes one of them - hence the upload :P

  • The one dislike was Anne Boleyn!

  • @MrsEdwardNigma well maybe her cold dead maggot ravaged remains or whatever

  • Let us leave for France!

  • haha! and what is Fry doing right in the end? xD

  • Sean Lock is always one of the best guests to have on the show

  • i love jonathan creek :)

  • This video is so short yet so dynamic! Alan's answers the question only to quickly shot down by Stephen's epic wit. Then the repetition of the panels impersonations of Alan's school boy acting preformance. Pure Brillance. Thanks for the uploads!

  • It's Pembroke. Anne Boleyn was the Marquess of Pembroke, traditionally a male role.

  • @bookworm266 ok, thank you for enlightening me. We learn something new every day, don't we? :D

  • @Akfilm92 the role of Figaro, the promiscious boy in the play of 'figaro's mariage' by mozart, is also traditionally played by a girl

weither due to the high vocals, i do not know

  • @SatoTM3 You're thinking of Cherubino, not Figaro. Figaro is a baritone part.

Cherubino, being a young male character is played by a woman to better portray his youthfulness, since an operatic tenor would be too "mature" a voice.

  • @RolandApricot what about a male counter-tenor

  • @irishgodfatherchris Haha! Touche :D

Though the counter tenor voice isn't as "pure" sounding as a female's voice, and that's the style Mozart wanted for his pure-ish/idealistic character of Cherubino.

  • LMAO

Thank you so much for putting this up!
