I'm living near Bankstown in South-West Sydney on the East coast of Australia :)
It was reported on 6 Oct last year that that our Channel 7 digital bought the rights to Jonathan Creek and other popular British TV shows. I know that at least part of the series was broadcast here in Sydney a few years ago and I saw a few episodes at the time. Maybe it was on our public channel, ABC.
From memory I liked the puzzle of the how the crime was committed rather than who done it.
This video is so short yet so dynamic! Alan's answers the question only to quickly shot down by Stephen's epic wit. Then the repetition of the panels impersonations of Alan's school boy acting preformance. Pure Brillance. Thanks for the uploads!
@SatoTM3 You're thinking of Cherubino, not Figaro. Figaro is a baritone part.
Cherubino, being a young male character is played by a woman to better portray his youthfulness, since an operatic tenor would be too "mature" a voice.
Though the counter tenor voice isn't as "pure" sounding as a female's voice, and that's the style Mozart wanted for his pure-ish/idealistic character of Cherubino.
"have you never seen Jonathan Creek?" appearantly not

I had to stifle my laughter at this, it being midnight and I don't want to wake up my family. It's hard to do!

It's Pembroke. Anne Boleyn was the Marquess of Pembroke, traditionally a male role.

@bookworm266 ok, thank you for enlightening me. We learn something new every day, don't we? :D

@Akfilm92 the role of Figaro, the promiscious boy in the play of 'figaro's mariage' by mozart, is also traditionally played by a girl
weither due to the high vocals, i do not know
