Yeah, I heard they just didn't want her to come back. They didn't elaborate much on why. Brad just said it on the final season dvd. I think it's during the first episode commentary with Kaley.

shannen doherty thinks she is the big star...the producers and the network decided to killed prue because shannen said her or alyssa, alyssa were more popular at the moment so shannen bye bye.

Shannon Doherty didnt want to come back for it. She was asked to come back for the series finale, and wouldnt.

Same here. They should have had her back for at least one more episode after she was killed off. Forever Charmed would've been a good one. Or the 100th episode.
