  • Dizz, you were my hero back in the day...thanks for the comeback!

  • awesome

  • Hey Ryan, Hey Dizz. Enjoy the bike. So happy its going to a great home and to the rider that made it a legend. Stay rad "Dizz" you are the man!!!! Metal Forever, Seani (NBL # 54).

  • i had a kick turn ramp in my drive for 3 years and loved it, still have a bunch of personal pics of Dizz at a CW show where it was raining but that didnt stop HIM.

  • Dizz is f'n awsome! met him back in 1987 during the hit and run tour in NJ, i follwed him into the bike shop and we shook hands and he signed my Cw shirt which i still have to this day along with a few Cw bikes. Keep it up Dizz!!!!

  • Really cool. Thanks!

  • Wow - some of the stuff he's doin' there is HARD! Great to see he can still pull those moves! Welcome back Dizz!

  • Dizz was a super cool guy.I met him a few times back in the day.Once,at Frenchie's bikes in MArgate Florida he was trying to show me the tripple bar spin and I just couldn't get it,he just smiled and said "Just keep tryin',you'll get it" and it was so F'n cool.

  • I know John "Dizz" too..His mom is best friends with my mom!! Supr cool guy!! :)

  • Master of DIZZaster!!

  • HELLLS YEA!!!!!

  • Dave vanderspek, bob medrano, cecil johns, ronnie anderson, frank post, brian blyther, bob haro, mike dominguez, eddie fiola etc, there is a list of real riders!!

    boss/skyway>cw

  • good to see he is still alive and kicking, but honestly...was never impressed with him as a kid.

and also, i think you are still a failure, crank is and always will be a pathetic loser drug. and for that..you suck sir.

keep wishing you had some type of impact on the sport, what ever makes you sleep good at night. cw sucked(weak frames, bars etc) and your style was boring to say the least.

    just sayin...

  • im 12 and PERSONALLY KNOW DIZZ. hes my friends dad XD

  • @TheDelayOV no one really cares gavin u fag

  • DIZZ is aBMX legend!!!!! I here is is coming to Texas soon for a big show like this one!!!!! I wish I could make it I am, not exactly sure when it is, but I am sure it will be a killer chance to meet the greats along with Ryan and his awsome art!!! Watching DIZZ ride again is like watching Jimi Hendrix come back from the grave and tour again!!!! For those to young to know DIZZ was a BMX GOD and yes the dudes today kill it, but he was the guy who started it all , along with a few others!!

  • Hutch trickstars are dope you must be heavy, upside down rolling tricks today are nothing like what Dizz Hicks used to do they are way way harder and totally different watch Matthais Dandois or Matt Wilhelm and compare WTF seat grind tricks have moved on upside down blender variations are in a totally different league ,freestyle has move on great to see him again but it's not the 80's anymore.

  • i also have a few bikes one's a hutch trickstar never boken it thats rubbish .

  • Great rider from the 80's but relying on past glory to get props don't cut it anymore past glory has been stuff .i'm 41 i ride flat all the time i remember the 80's well but it's 2010 now those days are gone .Alcohol and drugs all self inflicted shows a weak mind great he pulled through but he should not of be taken in.

  • DIZZ is alive and well!!! Always wondered what happened to him. Good to see him in good spirit and still riding. I agree with what the other guy said in teh video, If teh small ramp was allowed in flatland... DIZZ would win!

  • Dizz was on the cover of the very first BMX Plus magazine I ever bought. It was the October 1985 issue with the Huntington beach contest story. he and Wilkerson were probably the 2 most influential riders to me at that time. Glad to see he's still at it!

  • Old school. SMF till the end!!!

  • man, i am so happy to see Dizz again. He was my FAVORITE rider of all time...... just chomping at the bit to get another FREESTYLE magazine... seeing Dizz turned down or some other impossible contortion on a short ramp on a CW bike. I remember he always had crispy white tires in the comps also. If I remember he was the first riding the treadless CW tyres also. He needs to realize that in suburbia, we ONLY had room for short ramps, so he was our god. GO DIZZ!!!!!!

  • Much more entertaining than some others I could mention... Dizz is still a SMF! Much love from the UK.

  • The God of Kickturns !! I remember gawking at his decade how-to page on Super BMX & Freestyle magazine.. Dizz ads was also always fun to watch.. live healthy know, Dizz

  • I wish all of you that have posted negative comments here about Dizz could spend some time with him like I have. He has had some rough times that many of us have not experienced, I commend him for being tough enough to survive what he has gone through intact and I am honored to call him my friend. If he comes off as arrogant, I think that is largely due to editing here. He is extremely enthusiastic whether it is talking about himself or the likes of Van Homan. He is truly inspiring.

  • It is great to see Dizz back! He made such an impact on the the art of trick riding, sadly to many times people and the industry forget there roots and do not give credit to the early greats who were the foundation of todays tricks and sport. There is alot you learn from a original like Dizz especially being proud of your accomplishments and knowing where you came from! When is the X games going to have reunion for the founders of this sport? It would be great to hear there stories / opinions

  • Wow I can't believe this guy is still around. I remember hearing about him having some problems with drugs back in the 80's then I stopped seeing him in the magazines. I always wondered what happened to him. Now I know. He might seem to come across as an arrogant ass who thinks highly of himself, but I think he's just proud of his accomplishments and has really fond memories of being a pro rider back in the day.

  • Dizz is an arrogant ass who has fond memories of being a pro rider and does a lousy job of hiding his bitterness about the results of his own mistakes. If this is how he talks about himself while sober, just imagine how annoying he was on meth...!

  • Whats Name of this song?

  • its great he can still do a lot of his old stuff, but he should have used his oldschool bike for the show.

  • Dizz pawned his CW for a $20 bag of bathtub crank.

  • Dizz would be a lot tighter if he didn't think already think he was so fucking tight.

  • holy shit....bmxplus memories abound. remember seeing dizz and ceppie tearing it up.

so badass to see the man is sitll around.

  • DIZZ RULES!!!!!!

  • We love you Dizz..glad your back

  • Dizz seemed pretty cool back in the 80's, but now that I've seen him as an old dude who loves to talk about himself, I kinda wish I hadn't.

Still, he brought a unique and aggressive style to freestyle biking and I will always respect him for that.

  • When you're old enough to hear kids talk about stuff like they invented it, maybe then you'll understand.

    --

CW was the bike to have. Perfect geometry for flatland.

  • I'm 38 years old, started riding in '84. And all bikes sucked back then, with the possible exception of the Hutch Trick Star. If you seriously think the CW had "perfect geometry for flatland", you must have quit learning new tricks around the time that Dizz discovered methamphetamine. Enjoy your back wheel hops, sir.

  • Congratulations, I'm an old man too.

Did all bikes really suck back then, or was it just the rider??

  • To Ilaprad1 - Depends on the rider. But yeah, the bikes were pretty fragile. I used to break parts constantly in the 80s and early 90s, but nowadays everything holds up much better...and I weigh about 40 pounds more than I did then...

  • the hutch trickstar was the most easily broken frame ever

  • DIZZZ HICKS FAN CLUUUUUUB .. Here!! oh man.. we only miss that heavy metal boy look!

  • inspiring, ggod to see guys like dizz around, freestyle needs characters, guys with their own personality, not a war of the clones..

  • Dizz was this shit back in the day and is still the shit now. Glad to see you made it Dizz!

  • Awesome man, I am glad you are back. I remember watching you and Ceppi back in the 80's. I loved your style back then. I finally perfected your mega trick and I was stoked.

  • Wonder where he found that coaster brake hub?
