Big Dummy ... white clothing is for purity and sacred times....has nothing to do with the color of your skin... And you heard wrong about Mormons not liking blacks.....do not believe everything you hear...
@BannedUfos That is not true. I am a mormon and I love black people! They're so fun to be around with and they have good humor. We choose white clothing because the color white represents purity. Now, LDS members don't always wear white. I, myself, wear black...majority of the time. But we are fully in white clothing when we go to the Temple.^_^
I wonder when they're going to make edible garment bottoms. Crotchless, maybe? Maybe since they removed the sleeves on the women's version, they could make a thong bottom? Just some suggestions!
this is for those who have done all the mocking and put these things on the net about our church, may I remind you of the flood in Noah's days because of the wickedness of the people. Only 8 souls survived out of the whole world. Look what is happening in the world today, wars, earthquakes, and all manner of disasters has been fortold in revelations. the world is now ripen for disaster because of wickedness by the people who walk on its surface. warning take heed.
i will tell you people something about me, my name is Peter Brooks I am a temple ordinance worker at Preston temple UK. Let me make it quite clear to those who have put these dispicable things on the net it is an insult to my Heavenly Father who I love very dearly, and for the work done in the temples for the dead. You say these things are not in the bible - you are quite mistaken they are. Read the last 2 verses in Malachi in the old testament and the new testament about baptism for the dead.
Let me tell you what I don't understand about temple work. Members have spent billions of dollars and countless hours on/in these structures where you do these ordinances for people you cannot see, for reasons so abstract and yet there are so many people and situations that CAN be seen and yet they go ignored not just by Mormons but by everyone. "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren ye have done it unto me." Why not build a house for someone who can't do it themselves?
Maybe I can answer your question. The LDS missionaries are teaching the world about the gospel of Jesus Christ. These missionaries as well as members of the church are helping to bring those living into the fold of Christ. For those who have passed there is also missionary work being done in the spirit world, Christ himself taught the people there after his death. Ordinances such as baptism must be performed on earth. Temples provide a means to vicariously do the work for the dead
@tecnolover2642 Okay, but why can't the believers who have passed on perform those ordinances? Why can't these ordinances be processed through an ordinary Mormon chapel? and how do we know the dead are not rejecting these ordinances? I wonder if the missionaries in the "spirit world" are having as much success as the earthly missionaries. Only 4-5 out of the esteemed 14 million members are active. Many missionaries spend 2 years and thousands of dolla and baptize none and none are reaping after
The ordinances can only be performed on earth in the body. Christ showed us this by himself being baptized by John the baptist. Christ is the example. I don't profess to know the reasons these things must be done on earth but I think it's because we must have our mortal bodies as apposed to only our spirit body. Therefore, vicarious work is necessary for giving those who have passed the opportunity to accept the ordinances. Some will, some will not. They have their free agency.
About missionary work: I don't know how much success missionaries are having in the spirit world,, but one thing I do understand is that when we pass, our beliefs don't suddenly change. The same sinful habits and thoughts we have in this existence will follow us into the spirit world. Our realization that we indeed exist after death will NOT change our attitudes or belief about God and religion suddenly. True, many members are not active, Satan's success is widespread.
Jesus Christ never taught the secret rituals in the Bible (secret handshakes, secret oaths, secret rituals, baptisms for the dead), this is the invention of the Freemasons and Jospeh Smith was a Freemason and copied them to Masonic rituals in Mormon temples. These things are anti biblical and an invention of the Mormons.

White is not a color, and people should know that white is a combination of different colors. White seems so clean and pure but this purity is a mental illusion, and white does not really exist in nature. The existence of white is really only a confusion of the human mind, as the mind mixes colors mentally to form only in the mind what is said to be white. White is basically a lie, and my personal opinion is that white represents the many lies from human nature that call error as being truth.
@trader0108 I think that the color of an object is defined by color or colors that the observer observes the object's color, such as skin. Many people do not want to admit that their holy divinity skin color of white does not exist, and that their real skin color is bright red, green, and blue.
@peterpocasset Mormons go to the temple to be "sealed" to each other as a family, so that when they die, they will still be together. A Mormon wedding in the temple, is actually officially called a "sealing". This is where the couple is sealed to each other for eternity. Any children born after this "sealing" is automatically sealed to their parents, but if there were children before the temple marriage, then they must be taken by their parents to be "sealed" in the temple!

Modern, stylish, contemporary. No, no, no. Contemporary when compared to the 1800's, maybe! No, not really. They look like 19th century nightgowns.
