I got the same under $40. I put together a Fender Strat MIM neck maple with Rosewood fretboard. A Squire Basswood body. First I had a set of Joe Barden Deluxe Strat pups in it, and it was a little dark for me, put in the Dragonfire pups and The sound is nice and clean now in the neck and middle, the Humbucker has a nice warm tone to it. I can get that Mick Taylor tone. I was playing clean right into a Fender Super Reverb Black Face. Joe B. pups in a Hard Ash body now and rings like a BELL now
I'm glad you did a review of these pickups. I can't believe the price of them either...they have a hot humbucker set I want to put in my jackson performer ps4, and for 34.00$ for a set ...can't beat it apparently!
Great review..Have you ever played these on stage ? is there any problem with microphoning. I want to buy a set but I am going to be using them at loud volumes
@TheBlakem Thanks picked up sss set for my Rat O Caster project (USA made Peavey Predator) They sound great.. about the same as the Peavey pups but I had to rewire and wax pot the peavey's to get them like that!! plus the Pickguard and parts are far superior to originals. check it out on stage on my channel.
Great playing! Thanks for reviewing dragon fire. I was looking for new active pickups like the emg Dave Gilmore set but don't have $300 to blow. Thanks for just using the amp w/o tons of effects! I love the sustain you get
Yeah, Dragonfires were a "eh, what the fuck" purchase for me as well... I first got the Chrome Screamers when I was initially in the market for a pair of Seymour Duncans. I was all set to blow $150+ on a set, but figured I'd give the Screamers a shot. My reaction was much the same as yours when I realized just how much I got for a little over $30.
Hey! My name is Graham, I play with your son! It was total coincidence that I happened onto your video! I just heard about Dragonfire yesterday. I was thinking about getting some lace sensor duallys but i will have to take a look at these. Awesome playing.!

That black pickguard does look best. It looks like it doesn't have a pickguard on the video. Great playing.
