There already was a cinematic trailer which was a lot better animated than this. And I seriously doubt a game with 2D sprites released in the 21st century would do blizzard any good.
Besides, Diablo 2 didn't look like the same game as Diablo 1, but I liked it better. I think D3 will have it's redeeming qualities. I do miss the Necromancer though.

I loved Diablo and Diablo 2. I expect D3 to be good, but I will not be buying it if there is no bow class. I will play Guild Wars 2 instead. I mean, I would play a wizard and that's it. In D2 I played Zons and Sorcs over and over every ladder season. But I wouldn't buy the game for just one of them. Not with as thin a story as Blizzard gives the Diablo games.

This game's graphics are built in such a way that the camera is angled above from the side of the character when playing.. This means: If the camera isnt as close as it is angled in this movie, the graphics are going to look much better.

And of course staves are nice, however they obviously have suggested the monk does his greatest damage with his fists. So why use a stave if it's gonna handicap your dps? As for the rest thats easy. Barbarian = Warrior Wizard = Mage Witch Doctor = Shaman(Too a lesser degree) So the other classes are on WoW, just abit different.

If the new Starcraft 2 Cinematic are any indication, this is nowhere near what a true Blizzard CG movie looks like. This movie glimpse of the monk was I believe done pretty well, although some of the graphics seemed out-dated and sloppy/cut up, and when I saw that demon I thought it was a WoW character, it would've look better with a more Izual look or something, but I've seen gameplay trailers and I still believe D3 has a touch of a true Diablo game.

It's pretty obvious that Blizz will drop some brass knuckles or other such "Fist Weapons" in the game. That doesn't make the concept any less cheesy. And of course staves are nice, however they obviously have suggested the monk does his greatest damage with his fists. So why use a stave if it's gonna handicap your dps? As for the rest thats easy. Barbarian = Warrior Wizard = Mage Witch Doctor = Shaman(Too a lesser degree) So the other classes are on WoW, just abit different.

Catholics aren't the only ones with monks (though I was told by an actual member of the clergy that the proper term for them was friar).
Buddhists have monks too and it's quite obvious that this Monk-class has been based off the Asian variety. I see hints of Chinese, Indian, and possibly Russian influences in this particular Monk's design.

I'm pretty sure this is going to be merely the Cutscene between chapters, or as an introduction to the Monk class. If the new Starcraft 2 Cinematic are any indication, this is nowhere near what a true Blizzard CG movie looks like. I would be surprised if the true game intro didn't look similar to the stuff coming out of Starcraft 2.

This movie glimpse of the monk was I believe done pretty well, although some of the graphics seemed out-dated and sloppy/cut up, and when I saw that demon I thought it was a WoW character, it would've look better with a more Izual look or something, but I've seen gameplay trailers and I still believe D3 has a touch of a true Diablo game.
I've played both games for quite some time, although these days I'm more into FPS's, but I'm dam sure I'm going to spend lots of hours on this once it comes.

personally, it's not the graphics, it's the awkward "Dragonball fighting style" of the trailer, the fighting scene with this "big badie" is just poor and has nothing in common with the diablo series at all. They should have ended the trailer after the doors closed and it would much better.
