It's not just the water. When this torture method was used they would blindfold them and leave them in an isolated room. Since they are unable to move and robbed of their main sense (sight) the dripping water would become the entire focus of all the other senses. Yep, definitely gonna start out as annoying. Anytime after around 5 minutes, I think it's anyone's guess how long someone, male or female, will last. I also think the restraints played a part in Kari's reaction - Adam was just lying there like he was having a snooze.

I did this with my friends as a kid. it does drive you insane. very uncomfortable. we'd get one guy to hold their arms and another their legs on my bed, then we'd dip our fingers in water and drop one by one on the forehead.

Yep, definitely gonna start out as annoying. Anytime after around 5 minutes, I think it's anyone's guess how long someone, male or female, will last. I also think the restraints played a part in Kari's reaction - Adam was just lying there like he was having a snooze.

I thought actual water torture was supposed to be faster drops almost constant. If you do it every few seconds you have time to think and calm yourself down. If you do it almost constant you cant ever think. That's just my guess.

Rather than reacting with tears, I'd be reacting with pure rage. There would be all kinds of blood on my wrists from the restraints. Of course, if left long enough with the torture, I'd probably break down like Kari. Without the restraints, I'm pretty sure I could fall asleep during this.

I did this with my friends as a kid. it does drive you insane. very uncomfortable. we'd get one guy to hold their arms and another their legs on my bed, then we'd dip our fingers in water and drop one by one on the forehead.
