You are absolutely right there aren't and I have no problem with you acknowledging that fact all I would ask is that you are open minded enough to except the ones that are
Stumbled upon this video by chance, but had to correct a misconception about point 5. Syria, Yemen and Jordan are neither oil-rich nor oil-producing countries. Matter of fact they are very poor countries who for the most part, are resources-poor states and face tremendous economic challenges which make fighting instability and terrorism a challenge.
This video is in NO WAY shocking. Anybody who follows the news or have basic knowledge of macroeconomics would know that the US GDP constitutes around 25% of the World's GDP. That's why when our economy sneezes (as it is happening now) the whole World catches the flu. The point here is that we should be good stewards of our advancement and lead this world responsibly. It is our duty.
High GDP does not mean that you have a good Economy. Look at the US, highest GDP.
But how did they fund this? Exactly through debt! The government has lived on debt, the firms have lived on debt, and the citizens have lived on debt.
The USA is already dead because of DEBT. But on the surface it looks very beautiful, just like a neighbour that is buying mercedes, tv-sets, rebuilding his house...
But one day it has to pay back all the debt. And that time is RIGHT NOW.
Yes cool but as I know EU dogether has stronger economy. Not by lot but still.
Good thing we are friends :D
But that 3 USA states dogether have bigger economic output than economic output of China was suprise to me. Why they then talking about China beeing biggest economy i world for just some years.
I have heard they try to make their economy to look better by false statistic. But that one was just pathetic result for them.
Government coercion creates economic crisis. Freedom allows prosperity. Whatever party is in power, make sure they cut taxes, cut government spending, and reduce burdensome regulation.
Why didnt you add the 60 trillion debt.. Is what you owe the world with your economy. And those 60 trillion is 5 times your GDP and exceed the total amount of money on this planet... BY FAR.
This video is nominal nonsense. These are figures based on GDP numbers. The United States is no longer an industrial, economic engine and its entire economy is based on exporting currency and a domestic consumer/service sector economy.
Moreover, many of those countries have far better living standards. Qatar, for example where every student gets free education and health care from birth to death. Yes, university is free, and there are generous bursary programs that send students abroad.
Also this video is not shocking. Why isn't it hard to believe that some states have a greater economic output than many nations. California alone is often ranked between having the 7th and 10th largest economy in the world.
Yet Iran and Saudi Arabia don't fare to badly either. They each are 18th and 22nd largest in the world respectively.
U.S. economic output?? You need to have factories to have economic output. We don't!!! We gave it all away!!! The heart of America has been torn out by greed!!!
This does not show a complete picture. Check out the CIA world factbook or the IMF - the European Union functions as a single economy, and it's bigger than the US by trillions of dollars.
I just googled all of this and added it up.. I was amazed that it is true.. to bad it wont last as the liberal dems and obama singlehandedly destroy our economy..
Nope FDR built the economy up and Bush wrecked it. The USA is being caught by those nations. The way this video acts it is as if Bush made this happen. This has been true fior decades and now Bush and the necons have wrecked it.
FDR didn't build anything up. If you check the indices during that time you will see the U.S. never reached pre-Great Depression numbers. Check your history and you'll find it was our entry into WWII that got us out of depression.
I'm not advocating war as a solution...but redistribution of wealth cannot be a solution with history as evidence.
No the great depression ended in 1933. It did not end at the start of WW2. Read the GDP ggrowth stats. You are wrong. GDP growth stopped declingin in WW2. You are wrong to say the depression lasted the whole 30s. It is a right wing myth. Check the GDP growth stats.
Granted there was a temporary increase in GDP because of the expansionary money policy. Yet when you inflate the money supply to decrease unemployment you will end up with consequences. That is why even though there was a temporary increase in GDP, there was a recession in 1938 right before the war. If you look at your GDP numbers again you will see that WWII caused an explosion in GDP. You are advocating left wing socialist mythology.
Nope there was depression from 1929 - 33 and 1936 -37 That is not a 10 year depression. The economic growth started before WW2. You are advocating a right wing myth. Look at the GDP stats, or are GDP stats time travellers predicting WW2 two years before America joined the war.
Also its funny that you say the great depression ended in 1933 right when the New Deal began. If you know anything about economics then you would know there is lag time before any fiscal and monetary policy will have any effect. So if you say the Great Depression ended in 1933 it wasn't FDR's doing.
Fact Hoover ran the country for a 4 year long depression FDR took over and had a 1 year recession in his entire 12 years in government. So you do the math.
BS...This video fails to mention that 70% of the US's GDP is CONSUMER SPENDING. Consuming is the caboose not the engine in CAPITALISM. You have to have 'capital' to have a strong growing economy and the US is drowning in debt.
That was a very good quiz on economics that brought out some amazing facts! You wouldn't guess it listening to our main scream media! God bless anyone who tries to answer these questions!
I use the word republicrat to describe Mcbama. Barak the Marxist or McCain the warmonger. Violence here and/or abroad hmmm. I looked at their agendas and realized that they are the same. Keep the unconstitutional patriot act, keep our troops in Iraq or Afghanistan, keep spending money abroad, police the world, don't talk about the problems our economy really faces and keep America weak & divided. Is this really a choice? Why can't we restore the constitution.
George Washington urged us against the two party system. Abraham Lincoln was not part of the two party that chose him to office. it was a third party. All I hear from both major candidates is the same... I neither see nor feel their honesty. If you look at the real Issues the two candidates are the same. I am not afraid to stand against this machine until my voice is heard until the Republic is Restored by restoring the constitution!
Hey AmericanFreedomU: check out some clips from Peter Schiff and other much wiser economists if you want Shockingly Sober Economic Reality. Then insert foot in mouth and head further in you know where. Your fake economy bubble stats can take a hike.
Ha, this video is the funniest thing I have seen all damn day,I suppose your counting the economic output of the billions in worthless mortage backed paper we own. Ha this funny. Yeah and I have quater million in confederate money!
I think you are confusing consumption versus productivity. If Chevron buys oil to those oil rich countries, do you think they pay $100 a barrel? So this huge economic powerhouse called the USA, is counting up the markup between what a chevron pays, and sells it for, and calls it "economic output"... and guess who owns large chunks of stock in the oil companies? - You are taking figures completely out of context -
Ridiculous. The price of a barrel is factored into the GDP of the country that sold it (the same GDP that is being compared against the US GDP, which is 14 Trillion. BTW. (Up from 10T on Jan. 20th, 2001).
When you say "economic output", how is it measured? I'm guessing GNP, but maybe not. I've always liked to look at trade deficit as a good indicator of the health of any economy, amongst other things.
LMFAO... this is the Biggest BS i have ever seen... I live in the United Arab Emirates and it can Buy New York any day.. they are 4th in producing oil in the world and... these are not facts but BS!
Yes, we have the most economic output. But our people are the poorest of the world. In other countries, the poor have no money. In our country, people are in DEBT, which means they have a NEGATIVE amount of money. The Chinese have practically no debt, which means the people really possess all they own. THIS is what makes a country powerful.

I wonder what % of those numbers of the US economy are "borrowed" funds (debt) and funds based on hundreds of billions of dollars just printed on paper not backed by anything. Its like the Fed waves a magic wand and POOF billions of more dollars appear to drive this "Great Economy". I'm a proud American but I sure am worried about what these guys are doing. I got to believe we are headed for a fall..and a HARD one at that.
And what's the point? Americans consume a lot. If everyone lived like one we'd need 5.1 planets. As a teacher, I know that the US is the largest economy. That's not particularly shocking to most people. And the fact that it's the biggest is not what's important. What's important are the implications of unsustainable, mass consumption. THAT is what you should let your Teacher know.
I think our economic performance is based on our wealth of natural resources, and our rapatious exploitation of the resources of other countries. We have taken the place of England as the worlds ANTI CHRIST. Our illgotten wealth will be the death of us. Time to die.
Nobody is literally starving anybody. It is the systemic modes of production and trade that is perpetuating this income inequality. Read Immanuel Wallerstein and his core, semi-periphery, periphery explanations...
Because even with all of our economic output, America spends most of the money with things like the War in Iraq, health support, and all of the other governmental programs. The debt is from our waste of our hard earned economy. Thanks a lot government!
i'm an American. These things may be true. but at what costs? what if Japan and Germany didn't WANT to be rebuilt with US principles? what if the only reason we're #1 is by starving other countries? because alot of americans in the government get their money in corrupt ways? Notice you didn't adress any of these things in your video. listing only good and no bad things about america. we probably have the highest crime rate, mostpollution.. etc.
Dear Jeffo1307and falling, er, excellent Leftard hyperbole subject change! Wonderful bullshit sans any empirical evidence whatsoever. U don't er, "address" anything but our own wilful mediocre delusions &ignorance, pal. You are an excellent comrade boob. U live in a fantasy life completely supported by the system you despise. Wank on, fool. Get help. Good grief. R U 12 or 19? U um, suck. Dr Sanity blogpot com. The peoples cube com. Dissectleft blogspot com. Colonel Robert Neville blogspot com.
Jeff1307, the American government gets most of its money through taxes. I don't know where you are getting the idea that we starve other countries, unless we somehow take their only source of food and send it to America to sell. Our pollution rate is pretty low also, thanks to the laws that limit air, land, and water pollution. As for crime-rate, I think you should look that up BEFORE making retarded accusations. Think before you say another word, please.
yep. only way to concentrate wealth in one nation is to loot countries around the world?? bretton woods as you know it. so far so good.. lets see in this decade...
The only thing that US produces is the paper with a dollar sign on it. Nothing more! In the nearest future Middle Eastern countries, Russia and Venezuela countries will sell their oil in either national currencies or euro and than US economy will colapse. Because than you will have to sell your General electric products, General Motors etc. in other countries to get their foreign currency! This is going to be a tough job for US. We are living in the most interesting time in the history!
rorydugan: "You can only borrow money and go into debt if the lender believes you are strong enough financially to make good. Debt doesn't equal weakness."
But surely you agree there is a tipping point somewhere. Do you know where it is? Are you willing to gamble the future of this country on your certainty? Does it not make more sense to step back, acknowledge that we are obscenely rich (which seem to be the point of this video) and start thinking about the consequences?
Interesting comments, really. Strange that every street lamp post, playground ride, hospital building, runway, bridge, etc is not actually "owned" by Joe Citizen. But, it's all this material stuff that is used to measure our relative wealth, depsite it actually bought with borrowed money. Our debt society is our lifeblood and we might have to pay they debt with something more than money some day, if we don't start spreading the wealth.

Read Immanuel Wallerstein and his core, semi-periphery, periphery explanations...

so it begs the question. why are we so far in debt ?
dannyknapp 3 years ago

Bugaga2008 3 years ago
in fact USA is 2nd, right behind EU. also USA debt would be more than all those middle east countries.

You can only borrow money and go into debt if the lender believes you are strong enough financially to make good. Debt doesn't equal weakness.

rorydugan: "You can only borrow money and go into debt if the lender believes you are strong enough financially to make good.
