  • OTGS: Great video, thanks for sharing that. any plans to expand yet? control more?

  • great video man.

  • Great video and thanks for sharing...

  • that was a awsome commercial chevy all the way

  • why wouldnt you put it on the roof. I would think your wife would not want to look at them.

  • Once you have those babies lined down the backyard, she will let you throw them on the roof.

  • @hitmanhite thats what I'm hoping for lol

  • Nice setup! Since they are on the ground, take advantage and put them on a tracker and increase the output!

  • Excellent work!

  • really nice job on your board very neat work

  • @chalkhill714 thank you!

  • Looks good to me Brother...I like seeing the big wire and all the effort to hide it. You are on the right track my Friend...

  • @OBXSOLWIND yea, i got the biggest wire I could afford... on a tight budget, so I'm doin the best with what i got. I ordered a 300 watt grid tied inverter with a blue sea 3 way switch, are those switches pretty easy to hook up? I've never used them before...

  • Where did you buy the 8 gage wire and how much did it cost you?

  • @BR98133 Home depot, 8/2 Romex, 125 foot for about $110.

  • @offthegridsurvival Thanks!

  • Looks great brother.

  • Love it. Did you consider fixing the panels to the ground? Where I'm from the wind would have them travelling off down the drive and on Down the road. Great set up. :-)

  • great video, subbed!

  • Awesome bro. Why do all my smart neighbors live in my computer? hehe

    Thumbs up man!~~John

PS Is that treated wood? And do you think it might be best to get that wood off the ground by maybe sitting the frame up on blocks?

  • @WORRO01 THanks man!

  • Very nice setup!

    Greetings from Holland.

  • Great video. Just 1 question. What gauge wire did you use from the battery disconnect/combiner to the charge controller? It just has a couple little screws in back.....

  • @civildisorder44 From the charge controller to the batteries, I have the stock wire going to two grounding bars(Positive and Negative), then 8 gauge wire to the batteries.

  • the problem with cutting off the MC4 connectors is that it is going make your solar panel warranty void. How are you going to flatten out your angle on your panels this spring and summer? I guess you could have one for winter and one for spring and one for summer.

  • @shartne dang, never even thought of that... oh well, too late now... lol

  • Thanks for sharing the video. With the new setup what are you planning on running on it?

  • @CyberVatic Mainly lighting, but I have outlets throughout the house, so I can run pretty much anything up to 1000 watts (for a short time)

  • ★★★★★

  • @MadBadVoodo Thanks!

  • @offthegridsurvival You are welcome my friend and keep up the good work...

  • I don't have the solar panel disconnect switch on my 45 watt Harbor Freight. Do I need to put a disconnect switch like you have?

  • @valhala56 the disconnect makes it safer when working on the system. I had it setup with my harbor freight kit, but it wasn't really needed.

  • @offthegridsurvival Thanks.

  • I was concerned my panels would be stolen so I camouflaged them on my deck. Basic harbor freight Amphorours panels. I already bought the monocrystaline like your off ebay and I am going to install them in nooks and crannies so they won't noticed as easy as a bank of panels.

Copper thieves are already rife through the country, next they will be going after solar panels.

  • Why doesn't she want them on the roof? Is she concerned they will be stolen?

  • @valhala56 got a new roof last year and don't want any leaks...
