  • stunning..

  • i think that this melody contains so many things that its not by accident that most of the people who did cover for this are old . young man/lady cant play this melody with the passion it deserves .

  • Anne Marie VERA, piano

  • Does anyone have a VIOLA transcription of this piece? Or know where I can find one? albertcombrink@worldonline.co.za

  • I'd love to see him playing the rest of this suite........ one piece has me famished for more.

  • he plays very hot!

  • why do people always write, that this performance is amazing for his age.. you barely find people that can play like this in there best age.. he's a master..

  • the best Bloch Nigun from Baal Shem

  • I listen to other interpretations. I CAN NOT find anything so great as this one.

  • Very Charming!

  • one of a kind

  • I play this song :P only 50 second

  • Where was this filmed? It seems to be the same location that was used in the film LE MAITRE DE MUSIQUE.

  • inspiring, i wish violinist start dressing like he does here, makes more sense, it is more comfortable to play than using the stupid tuxedo

  • @spdlight7 amen. i HATEEEEE the tuxedo and suits

  • I can't get enough of Ivry Gitlis. Fantastic. I love it.

    Jorge Liebermann (argentino)

  • que expresividad... genial Giltis es bárbaro!

  • It's like tango argentino... :)

  • Su version es unica!! una obra maestra!

  • Great for any age. Amazing for 87!!

  • this is amazing

  • A genius playing a masterpiece...

  • mindblowing

  • Fresh... soo fresh man.

  • I would love to see him; he plays with such emotion.

  • great!

  • One of the greats. So wonderful that he can still play so FINE at his age. I mean SO FINE.

  • wow

  • Great Artist!

I remember his great performance in Moscow(about 40 years ago)

  • I wish I wd have been there

  • this piece seems to be composed just for him Simply fantastic.

  • Everything he plays seems written just for him.

  • Ivry Gitlis has a fantastic padronance of this kind of music... This piece looks written just for him! I enjoyed that.

    Thanks for sharing

  • it's amazing!!! he's amazing!!! very comical but serious playing :)

he's French? I'm assuming from the amount of french comments there are??

    awesome guy!!!

    xx

  • Hey There! Actually Ivry is from Israel, born in in Haifa, from Russian Parents, however he lives in Paris now. Quite brilliant...isn't he?

  • wow, sounds exciting!!

  • leave it to a viola to say something like that about Gitlis.

A hymn to G-d should be the most personal thing ever.

  • everyone is entitled to their opinion, only isnt taste (interpretation) something different then opinion?

Anyway, im glad god isnt only perceived through your church :-)

  • FANTASTIC!!!

  • Moi je trouve cela très joli !

  • very beautiful..

  • Unbelievable!

He's very old on this video and still he has so much passion, so much energy - just listen to his vibrato!

  • he is the best on Bloch 'Nigun'

  • Ivry Gitlis is a diferent violin player, GREAT!

  • Ivry is always exciting to listen to and watch. Where was this filmed and who is that good looking pianist?

  • Don't have any idea where that was performed, but it kinda looks like Navah Perlman at the piano. I've played with her twice, but it's been a few years, so I could be wrong.

  • Simply Amazing....and when Ivry does it, even more

  • Very grand, thankyou.

  • Totally Gitlis's way of playing, awsome! His tone like his age which is full of depth, I like he slide bow over the finger board intentionally to create roughness and colourful sond.

  • Je repete: pas interessant.

  • Mais oui! c'est Tres interessant. C'est magnifique.

  • wow! this is deep MAESTRO GITLIS!

  • It's the first time I've heard this piece, and I am without words. Thank you so much!

  • dayum

  • It took place in 2000's sometime - 2003 or 4 - Yes I do believe Gitlis is still performing and giving concerts - amazing for a man who is over 80!

  • @MitzvaMobile UBuruch!

  • @adamwas i was on his concert in Estonia this summer , it was amazing , i enjoyed it so much !! :D

  • nigun is my nysma piece this year

  • the most soulful rendition ive heard.
