  • can we use any type of cheese?

  • @MsIzzy805 Yes, Cheddar works well, but most cheeses will work (except cream cheese, cottage cheese, etc.).

  • Hi betty, i have seen making these kinda parmasen big and some small salad or canape bowls , but usually i seen my chef use to keep grated parmasen for about 10 second in microwave oven and then he makes the cup, it look like more white and more fresh but u keep it parmasen in oven for long time and the colour have been changed of that bowl, but still i like this idea too! Keep inventing more thing in kitchen and keep post on you tube! Ammy chef

  • Nice idea Betty! I will try this. :)

  • YUM!! I have never shaped mine into to bowls,, what a terrific idea!! YAY!! Thanks for sharing!!

  • I am trying this tomorrow. I always buy the Cheese at Sams Club because it is such a bargain compared to elsewhere but there is so much cheese! I am always looking for things to do with it all. I wonder how long these bowls will keep?

  • @yescandles It you enclose them in plastic wrap or zip-lock bags, they will last easily for a week. You can stick them in the freezer and keep them for a couple of months!

  • cant you put the same bowl on top of it aswell instead of pressing down with your fingers ??

  • @darkroge Yes, that's a good idea.

  • could prepare that this coming christmas :D Thanks

  • Yum! How can you avoid just eating those tasty bowls?

  • @Lisatruck That's what they are meant for! I only ate a small part of the salad and a taste of the bowl--This is not a low calorie salad!

  • that top looks fantastic on you!

  • that was so neat.

  • That is LOVELY :D, what kind of cheese can you use? Only "hard cheese" like parmasian or can you use chedder, mozerella? (I imagen you can not use a soft or crumbly cheese like blue cheese, lol)

  • @brwaldrop Yes, you can use cheddar or mozzarella, but stay away from the soft and crumbly cheeses for this purpose.

    --Betty :)

  • @MrsMSG79 Yes, if you are able to do it. I needed the parchment paper to hold it flat while I inverted it over the bowl.

  • Those look great, I never thought of using them as salad bowls. My husband and I are always low-carbing it - we make these and hang them over a rolling pin, and use them as taco shells!

  • I made this a couple of months ago and loved it. I made mine on the stove top though...in an 8 inch skillet. It melted faster and wasn't too hot for my hands actually.

  • That would be great for a taco salad

  • @grandamchi2000 Yes, it would!

    --Betty :)

  • that looks soo yummy!

    (x

  • @dempss1 Thanks!

  • That's such a good Idea there would be less dishes to do at dinner time by using these that's for sure lol I wonder if you could do kind of the same thing but with cookies and make like a dessert bowl with ice cream in it or something

  • @Nicoledaly87 I'm sure you could do the same thing with cookie dough. You might want to make them smaller.
