  • You can laugh all you want little man its not going to change the fact that the 2007 model highway one single coil daphne nitro blue is very sought after today. I have seen that model sell well over $1,200 give fender a call like I did they will tell you the same dam thing. That model stratocaster puts any American standard stratocaster to shame its not even Arguble. So little man the joke is most certainly ON YOU!

  • Best production strat since 1968 Hands down

  • @EPI6fingers LOL

  • Mrkernan i dont if you have had any of the 2007 single coil highway one strats in daphne blue color or colour in England. The 2007's are for a few reasons but one is that daphne blue ran less than 1 year on the highway one up grade versions.

  • One of the best american made strats in the past 43 years. I have a 2007 daphne blue and i would get rid of my wife befor the strat. Wait a minut? Thats rite i already did!

  • your PUMA is cool!

  • Is the neck big? I'm thinking about this guitar but I can't stand small necks.

  • is the neck smooth? how would you describe it? thank you

  • @kurtfreedom Yeah it's smooth but it doesnt have a gloss finish.

  • This strat sounds good!

  • it probably would have been a good idea to to test it before you bought

  • take the retarded looking stickers off that dude

  • shouldn't you test it before you buy it???

  • Fabuloussss.......a great songs. Mr Kernan could you please tell us your amplifier and effects that you use in this highway one,Thankkkkkkssssss

  • @vinkassi It's right there in the description man

  • INCREIBLEEEEEEEEEE

  • Nice, how do you find the maple neck, do you prefer it to rosewood?

  • @Guevaristas yeah i wanted to know this question too....

  • Lol, cheers!

  • Your birthday is 12th march!? no way! so is mine! lol.

Happy birthday for next week :D

  • hey there, was wondering how you think the bridge pup handles high gain/distortion

  • Hmm, well it's right there in the vid. I think like most single coils it can get a bit noisy at times, but there are ways round this (not sitting in a room full of electronics helps as well!) you could you a noise gate for example. I have a les paul though which I use for heavier songs, I bought this purposefully for it's cleaner 'sparkle'

  • @pur3kill3r

I find the alnico 3s in the Highway 1s handle distortion excellently. They are darker, less trebly than alnico 5s or ceramics, which most strats use. Sort of a middle ground between humbuckers and single coils. I love em.

  • @stratocasterz fender is going to release the same Brilliant! Alnico III pick ups

that are in the legendary 2007 highway one sss strats eaither in july or

    august 2011.

  • @stratdem legendary ?

  • part-2

about and its very clear that mr. joaokorb has NO CLUE AT ALL ON WHAT HE'S TALKING ABOUT! because if he did he wouldnt make these asshole statements over ond over again. my drummer realy thiks he might even be retarded?

  • joaokorb is becoming a total asswipe to other posters. his opinions are just that OPINIONS! there are no facts or truth to his pathitic comments. most people want facts about a instrument befor they buy it. opinions come later. this guy is simply a joke and annoying. i get e.mail from people who post here and tell me this guy is nothing more than a annoying little bitch. you see what this asswipe doesnt know is that i'm a certified luthier and have been for years so i do know what i'm talking

  • Please tell me if that Highway One go out of tune so much????? and by the way Great U2 playing lol

  • Umm, no more so than usual. Thanks for the compliment :)

  • @000021864 i have 3 2007 Brilliant highway one sss strats and none of them do i have any problems going out of tune.

the fender ping tuners i like alot because there easy to tune and they stay in tune a lot better and longer than any fender classis tuner.

  • Thank u so much lol

  • Nice gift! I got a Sunburst/Maple in dec/09. Truly american made fender guitars. Alnicos III are some kind of exclusive tone makers!

  • MrKernan, heres my top 3 fender stratocaster pick ups.

1.Fender single coil X-1 pick ups

2.Fender single coil Alnico III pick ups

3.Fender single coil 1969 pick ups.

these 3 pickups were and are simply Brilliant pick ups hands down!

  • the Alnico III pick ups the highway one sss stratocaster have are simply tone superior and some of the best pick ups fender put out in a very long time. the Alnico III pick ups that are in the highway one sss strats are in the top 5 best pick ups fender has ever made hands down!!!!

  • Who are you talking to?

  • I just ordered the wine red strat hwy 1 w/ maple neck.. they arent that easy to find right now. Im torn between the fender hot rod amp and the vox ad 30.. tube amps are the only way to go after demoing them in the store.very rich, mello "old school " sound

  • I have a highway one with a rosewood neck,im not really a maple neck kind of guy.

you captured ''the edges playing style really well, keep it up

  • It gets really really good after the 6th minute

  • It gets astounding after the 10th minute ;)

  • Haha, that'd make sense

  • Very Very cool. Sounds like some U2/AVA stuff in the beginning. You might be the reason I'm going to get this guitar. Thanks for the vid!

  • Great guitar and great palyin' man!! I'm going to buy my first strat and i'm very stuck between this beatufil guitar, a mexican deluxe roadhouse strat or a classic player 50, what do you think? Keep on rockin' man!!!

  • Go try 'em all and get what suits you best :) Thanks for the kind comments

  • Cool tones, interesting playing!

I have a black HW1 strat too (2009), that is an insane stuff. I love it. Maybe nobody can beat it in various tones!

  • At Monteray pop fest, a journalist approuched Jimi with lighterfluid and that he should set he's guitar on fire. That was the only time, as far as I know.

Jimi practically slept with his guitar (s) separation anxiaety? lol

  • jimi would have choosen the highway one sss strat no doubt in my mind for the simple facts the highway one sss strat is a superior tone versatile strat.

  • the idiot that -1 my comment has no idea what he or she's talking about. were jimi hendrix was heading with his style just before he died he most certainly would have chosen the highway one sss strat over that overrated new american standard strat hands down! the highway one sss strat is with out any doubt the superior stratocaster over the new american standards and most other strats also to.

  • stratdem, If Jimi was alive he would have played what ever was the latest greatest inovation of the electric guitar, like back then.

Obviously he would yank a floyd rose. Maybe he would be playing Charvel! lol

  • he would play whatever the hell he could break every night and not give a shit about...then again by now he would be like richer then Michael Jackson so maybe he would just have millions of custom-made guitars to smash...hmmm....

  • i would never give up my 2007 highway ones sss strats for any other strats and i do mean never.

  • me neither lynard skynard gave me mine

  • the 2007 highway ones sss strats are in high demand. they have the best tone versatilty and sustain of any strat. before the price drop they list for $1,130 and retailed for $900/$930 and worth every penny and more.

  • Are you a Highway 1 salesman? :p

  • no i play them BUT my child hood friend works for fender and has been for 28 years. and says the highway one strat out sells the new american standard strat 3 to 1 and its always been that way even when the highway one sss strat was retailing at $900/$930 the highway one sss strat is with out one of the most tone versatile guitar's period the 2007's are highly sought after for a good reason there simply a brilliant guitar tone/sustain that old school strat feel they cant be beat.

  • Well, I'm certainly happy with mine :)

  • you can bet if jimi hendrix was alive he would be playing the highway one sss strats. the alnico III PICK UPS THE HIGHWAY ONE HAS WOULD GIVE HIM ANY TONE HE WANTED HE WOULD HAVE LOVED THESE STRATS AND I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO SAY THIS. TAKE KEEP ROCKIN!!!!

  • Hmm, I'm sensing you really like this guitar! ;) :p

  • it's the only strat that i found that you can go from hard rock to jazz with out changing the guitar.

  • Really man 2007-2009 Highway Ones are same feel/tone. There's no such rumor about the 2007 series. All i could find was you spreding the word about the 2007 series. Nothing more. Got a Dec/2009 Sunbust/Mapple SSS. When I opened the backplate for tremolo ajusting was written with atomic pencil behind the springs "AmerSpec". Sweet hugh? All the series got its particularity, but not because you claim to have tree 2007's you can create this fantasy that they're the best in the world. Keep on Rockin!

  • @joaokorb mr. kern this asshole is posting his total bullshit everywere. is whats pathetic its very clear this asswipe has no clue what he's talking about. no facts or true to his bullshit self opinions and thats all it is is this idiots opinions. myself and a few of my musician friends laugh at this douchebag its amazing on how much stupidy can be wraped up in one person. the highway one sss strat is pure legend. and this asshole is way out numberd on this subject!

  • nice guitar! and nice pumas by the dooe i have that in all black! ;D

  • haha, nice spot.

  • lmao thanks!! ur pretty good at guitar dude!

  • Sweet tone =)

I really want to get either this strat or the hw1 tele

  • In my video response I'm using my Highway One HSS with mesa triple rec. By the way for you people that don't know the hss is equipped with the Seymour Duncan Atomic Humbucker and Alnico III single coils. I love this guitar.

  • how much you pay for it? im looking at 1 and im not sure about it yet cause i want a american standard or deluxe

  • £500

  • Highway ones are american made. Just think of them as the "studio" of the fender line.

  • ok thx alot

  • sounds good though. im getting a 1988 strat from some guy that is selling it for 500! i cant pass that up and its usa made too

  • that was cool!

  • Why thank you

  • whats the neck radius do ya kno

  • 9.5 inches I believe

  • also fantastic job

  • Thanks!

  • ohhh.......'69s.....or......'54s........the best........>does Fender American Standard Stratocaster has the same pickups as yours?

  • I don't believe so.

  • nice sound.....i'm planing to buy one like that but sunburst.....but when was high gained i think wasn a little noisy.?

  • Thanks man.

You're right, there is quite a lot of hum there. The problem is:

    a) I'm in a small room with a lot of electronics

    b) I was playing with the bridge pickup. If I were using the bridge/mid or neck/mid pickup the hum would be considerably less because they are reverse polarity which actually does a lot to cancel hum

It's a good guitar, I may swap out the pickups some time soon, I was thinking the fender CS69s.

  • the highway one is a real strat thats why, dont change them owesome Anico III pick ups they are some of the most versatile pick ups out there today. the highway one blows the new american standards right off the face of the plannet.

  • Yeah they're good for stock pickups, but versatility is not neccessarily what I'm after. I'm happy with them for now, we'll see how it goes :)

  • Nice Edge!

  • Cheers! check out my other vids, I'm a bit obsessed :)
