I live in Carcassonne, christmas is deffinatley the best time to come, they decorate la cite as well as the newer town, it looks absloutley amazee atm ! ...

This is a great video! My wife and I stayed at a hotel just outside the walls (we couldn't get a room in any hotel inside) and visited the cite every day. What a wonderful place, so much history, gorgeous restaurants and lovely people.

We stayed at the Hotel De La Cite inside the city walls.

We dined at the hotel too, a nine course dinner which included soup served with popcorn!

wow i've been there too,it was a wonderfull experience just to be there.only the church of saint nazaire gave me the creeps.

We have just came back from there and it broke our heart's to leave.We found it a lovely place full of interesting little shops and bars, the scenery was fantastic such fantastic view's form the walls!

We are planning another trip back hopefully later on in the year!!

A truly awesome place to visit, we have been 4 times now and never grow tired of it. Anyone who visits is going to be spellbound by it's beauty and character. Stay inside the city overnight at the Best Western Hotel Donjon, it's fantastic, a real must exerience to wander around at night! Food is excellent, can recomend Comte Roger, oposite the Best Western!

If you can, go over the christmas holidays, they decorate the cite, it's awesome. Our son loved it, made us feel like kids again!

This really does justice to the grandeur of this remarkable city. I've lived and traveled in many parts of France. Carcassone has everything--history, fantastic location, great people, the Cathedral, the fortress walls and moats, and wonderful food (esp. the casoulette)!
