If anyone finds an iphone app, like Kindle, that can access your amazon purchased books automatically... BUT also has ***text-to-speech*** (an audio reader without the need for an audio book) please reply and tell me. It is straining reading from a phone and I would like it to read to me... even if it is monotone.
I use this program with my iPad as my main conversation device...it works very well as my method to converse away from home. Being able to type in phrases I use alot and save them for future playback makes my conversations quicker and easier.
@MoonMankkkkkk They have sales every now and then. But yes, nobody can beat the price of Apple Apps overall. What they make up for in lower price is massive quantities sold.
TextAloud is more powerful but overall more expensive when you factor in the other quality voices you might want to buy.
If your iPhone has OS4, It's great for leaving prank messages on a friend's answering machine. Just make sure you have your iPhone on speaker, type what you what into "speak it" then open up your phone... then go back to "speak it" and away we go!
Speak It is NOT DUMB! If you are a person who is losing your eyesight and would still enjoy "reading" books, it is a huge asset. Step outside your box and think of others and how this program might benefit them. Fortunately, Apple has for a very long time been in the forefront of considering the needs of disabled customers.
@amerikaner101 It has a variety of applications - just think of any reason that you would want something read out loud - there you go. ie. someone that is mute, someone with a really heavy accent but needs to communicate certain words on the phone, have an article read out to you when you don't or can't read it yourself (ie while driving, laying down with eyes closed), people who can't read but can understand spoken english/french/spanish. Hopefully someday asian languages will be supported.
@amerikaner101 - I'm looking for something my grandma, who has parkinsons and lost a lot of her ability to speak... try thinking a bit before you waste your time leaving pointless youtube comments
@amerikaner101 You're pretty funny. Wow, guess you don't do anything that needs learning. Are you just a slug who sits & eats all day? Using your brain to learn must not be a concept you embrace, if you can't figure out how to use an app like this, LOL get a life!
@amerikaner101 You are very ignorant. A lot of apps like these are used by people who have disabilities and can't talk. It helps their family know what is wrong as they can type what they want too say.
Will this work with Kindle for iPhone? Is there a way to make it work?

Are there any plans to release it for Windows?
MoonMankkkkkk 11 months ago
@MoonMankkkkkk I don't believe there are any immediate plans as there are already alternatives to this on the Windows side. Try TextAloud.
moophoto 11 months ago
@moophoto
That's a price of $29.99, in contrast to your price of $4.99.

Try typing "Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!" (Make sure all H's are capital.)
It says "Heckdars Heckdars Heckdars Heckdars Heckdars!"
But if you use the british voice it sounds like "Heckdez"
Its REALLY WEIRD!!!

Is there an app that sounds like MS Sam?
Brax1029 1 year ago
@Brax1029 Its been a while since I've heard MS Sam, but I don't think any of them sound like him/it.
moophoto 1 year ago
@moophoto These guys should make a voice that sounds like MS Sam, or Microsoft needs to make one themselves. I would buy that.
