I get Lynn dying, and the security guard dying after saying goodbye to his family, but do we really needed the part where the guard thinks for one second that they are actually okay? That was very cruel.
Watching Lynn die after having such a terrible day, only trying to do what was right....getting his authority taken away while everyone was conspiring against him, after he was beat up - betrayed by his own Sister and then she dies!
Meanwhile, he gets locked away for simply trying to do what the President ordered. He was a GOOD man under a lot of pressure and his death disturbs me on massive levels that cause nightmares. I fucking HATE the way he died and because of that I'll not be watching 24
@incinerator327 that was cheap ploy to get easy sympathy. In every couple episodes, there is somebody who has a pregnant wife, or children, and they end up dying somehow. Still, the security guards death was sad
@ColorFace1116 Cheap ploy? How about realistic, it highlights how he may not be an important character, but his death is still every bit as tragic as Lynns.
The is music is so powerful.Seasons 1 and 5 in particular have so much beautiful musics, I love listening the soundtracks over and over. I would love to see lots of new compositions in season 8, seasons 6 and 7 were a bit off on that point (even if Redemption had 1 hour of trully great new musical material), it was still enjoyable but there were not really some brand new long and memorable compositions. C'mon Sean, give us the apotheosis of the show on that matter, I think it's a big part of it!
I wish I could forgot everything I know about 24 and just start watching the first 7 seasons for the first time. This show is so addictive, I hope season 8 isn't the last one, the writers don't know whether it's the last season and they're almost on the half of the production of the upcoming season... a final season must have some specifical material, and not just in the final 2 or 3 episodes : for a show like 24, the whole season should be influenced by the fact there is/or not a 9th season.
What exactly will that do? The writers are amazing as it is. Finding out that Dana Walsh was working with the terrorists was a pretty big twist, seeing as how she was having troubles with her "other" self.
@chery2tste That's often the way with '24'. The Jerks are pains to begin with but they always die well, finding courage and strength at the end they did not show when alivr:Lynn Mcgill,George Mason,Ryan Chapelle...
A fine piece of music, in tone sad,yet triumphant. But probably the saddest, most heartbreaking episode of all, combining this with Kim's rejection of her father and the death of Tony Almeida.
I am just starting to watch the show 24, where over the past month I have watched Seasons 1-5 so far and MAN. I can see what drama I have missed over all these years, I am hoping to catch up to where I can watch the Season which is going on right now. I too agree that is so far is the greatest song on 24. Its so powerful and moving!
I disliked Mcgill at the beginning too, for coming in and taking over when I felt that Buchanan was already doing a good job; despite this, he had a nicely written death. Wonderful music, wonderful scene. Awesome. <3
I really liked Lynn McGill and this next to Masons death/sacrifice was the only moments to where I cried while watching. Great story telling and even better acting. RIP Lynn McGill
24 is full with sad moments but Lynn Mcgill's sacrifice was the only moment when I cried and episode thirteenth in whole is my favorite. But anyway season 5 was a little dissapointment for me because it's action was over the top.
I remember seeing this for the first time on TV, I must of watched it about 20 times before moving on. The scene was perfect.

The security guard who talk to his family, his daughter, it was so sad.
The actor also plays in the war movie Saints & Soldiers! He has a good acting talent.

@ilurvebigbutts They've done season 8, it ended back in May. Unless you mean a season 8 soundtrack, in which case I dunno.

They should all take a break for about 2 years and let their creative energy come back, as well as some new plot ideas.
I think there is some creative exhaustion happening, with the same old ideas ... traitor inside CTU and so on...

@VigonSaze
Just that we've seen these plot twists umpteen times.
Furthermore, the ratings for 24 were slipping, and it seems fewer people were interested in keeping up with Jack.
Watch it turn out that Dana Walsh is Charles Logan's secret lover or daughter or both ... who knows.
