  • Where Republicans come from

  • THE DOOR TO HELL!

  • cool vids, thanks. <3

  • and people say the earth is running low on gas resources could it be this hole is eating up alot of that reserve, that's 1 big reserve of gas that's sitting on!

  • @bcherbs or it could be amerika eating it up. ;)

  • it looks like there were many attempts to fill this hole and try to put out the fire?

who was the starter of this eternal flame again?

  • @rpplaygw "The hole is the outcome not of nature but of an industrial accident. In 1971 a Soviet drilling rig accidentally punched into a massive underground natural gas cavern, causing the ground to collapse and the entire drilling rig to fall in."

  • @rpplaygw how do you know that? looks like a normal hole to me...

  • it looks like there were many attemps to fill this hole and try to put out the fire?

who was the starter of this eternal flame again?

  • 38 years burning?? so even the rains cant stop that! wtf

  • NETHER!

  • the Earth Farted and someone lit it on fire with a lighter

  • what causes this?

  • That's what happens when Chuck Norris takes a shit in the dessert after having chili...

  • @dzntms144 Idiot.

  • flaring or not, thats some huge amount of wasted energy just there doing nadda for no-one.... even the tourist are polluting in driving to take pics... PUT SOMETHING BACK!!

  • hellboy's another mission

  • SOMEBODY HAVE SOME HOTDOGS? :)

  • wouldn't a constant fire like that badly effect weather and climate?

  • it's, it's, it's... it's tartarus!

  • its not the gate to hell...its gods bbq

  • You can't visit that and NOT bring a bag of marshmallows. :D

  • I would walk down into that... Like a boss...

  • WHY WOULD THEY FILL IT IN?!

  • throw Bieber in lol

  • damn... forgot my marshmallows..

  • They should lower a mic in there like they did in Russia.

  • @BubbaMetal All they'd record is wooshing of wind and fire. lol

  • The door to heaven! Jump in!!!

  • Travis pastrana can jump this

  • hey avmf , DREWCIVIC is a dumb shit your wasting your time.

  • "Not into the pit! It burns!"

  • you can fill it with weed and bring peace to the world.

  • @evoteck lol

  • @evoteck for real lol

  • this place is called"the gate to hell" no joke

  • They should harness its heat or something... to generate electrcity, or something

  • imagine just standing there lalalaa taking a video and then sumone just knocks u in that shit. hahha thats crazy, wut is this from?

  • 0:11 is that a hole?:)

  • Oh those wacky Russians.

Always opening gateways to Hell... when will they learn? :P

  • Wow! It looks as if a meteor just crashed there minutes ago! Incredible!

  • wonder whut wuld happen if someone did throw a reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeellyyyyyy big sack with hair in there.

  • you realy dont want to jump in hell

  • Stick a ramp on either end of the crater. First one to clear it wins!

  • people, does it really take that much energy to click the info button? it tells you everything.... lazy.. just lazy.......

  • hey, i think that's Jimmy Hoffa right there!

  • so why the hell arent they tapping into this gas reserve?

  • @douboymk2 cause it's currently on fire... generally, you can't put out a gas fire without isolating the gas... how you plan to isolate a couple hundred meter wide cavern full of gas is something I'd like to know! =]

  • What caused this?

  • all you need is some bulgogi and kalbi

  • Fill the hole with concrete? Would that work?

  • @frozencoffee The gas comes from a loooong way underground. There's not enough concrete in the world.

  • it would be cooler if it were bottomless

  • Perfect place to hide an body.

  • Weenie roast, anyone?

  • Let's have a BBQ!

  • looks like stalker's flame anomaly fields

  • what happens if you get water inside of the hole?.

    i now i ask a stupend question.

  • You require more vespene gas

  • WELCOME TO HELL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dam they found where i took a pee >.>

  • Throw water in there.

  • Holy hole 0_o

  • Holy Hole !

  • its in Uzbekistan u dumbass

  • @artmanoym12

    Turkmenistan, actually.

    40°15′8″N 58°26′23″E

  • @artmanoym12 Isolated in the middle of the Kara-Kum Desert of Turkmenistan is a strange blazing crater that has been burning non-stop for 38 years. Nicknamed Hells Gate, it is the entrance to an underground cavern filled with natural gas. Geologists discovered the cavern in 1971 when the ground under their drilling rig caved in. They ignited it to prevent the poisonous gas from escaping, and it has been burning uninterrupted ever since.

  • @mcsunny : great comment, finally a useful one, thank for the info! :)

  • damn you geologist for causing the gass sortage!

im helping to make more gass! "farts"

  • holy crap compared to that guy those flames are probably huge

  • holy shit thats awesome

  • that is the coolest thing ive seen in a while.

  • HANK HILL NARRATING

  • i don't get it, gases?

  • @PkSage89 read discription

  • you know how pink floyd did that live from pompeii video?

i think iron maiden should do a live show from this site.

  • ya and lots of ppl would probly die

  • Agreed!

  • I don't understand. Why doesn't it stop?

  • the gas is natrual wich means the gas is under the earth and it is burnig off all that gas

  • build a power plant on it...use its energy

  • you cant the plant would be in high risk of danger and it would kill people if it collapsed

  • Mother Earth had a hot curry

  • This would be a great place to hide the bodies.

  • hehehe sick but true. TRUE

  • türkiyeye gelmeyin istemiyoruz sizi gelmeyin ülkemziden türkiyeden uzak durun gelmeyimn ya ak ic katliyem yaptırmayin bize ecelnizmi geldi

  • so jogar agua kkkkkkk

  • cool!

    hope nobody falls.

  • @xXxXTMCMxXxX sure u do..

  • @xXxXTMCMxXxX i wonder if anyone actually has...

  • thats a lot of gas

  • I wonder if anyone has ever dropped there camera in there? Also if they built a dome over that they could use it as a power plant. Since all you need is steam to turn a turbine and there you go power.

  • You just know it would go out the momet they did that :-p

  • Yeah, but I doubt anyone is willing to invest in making a power plant to fit that specific hole on the assumption that it's going to keep burning like that for many years to come.

  • Comment removed

  • thats genious!

  • @avmf8 youre smart!!

  • @avmf8 I was thinking the same the down the line this will be something useful in the future, the only thing though to build such dome the measurements would have to be precise, the installation would have to be carefully planned, would want to lose lives working on a project like this.

  • @afimearts I was more thinking they make the dome in a building yard then use one of those heavy lift crane helicopters to put it over the hole.

  • @avmf8 I was thinking the same way believe me, but 100 meters seems to be really big and it take about four helicopters to pull off such a job, that would some serious and skillful pilots to pull off such a job, and coordinate. I'm imagining that the materials to make a dome of such would be pretty heavy to be able to handle the heat.

  • @avmf8 its smoke not steam :l

  • @DREWCIVIC I know its not team you would use the heat to boil water creating steam to run a turbine.

  • @avmf8 no they couldent they would all die dont be a fool

  • @avmf8 You must be a special kind of retarded, if you think it's a good idea to put a steam driven power plant in the desert, on top of an unstable energy source.

  • @dlikon Oh and I suppose you think nuclear power is stable even though it can explode and cover a large area in radiation.

  • @avmf8 Way to miss the point entirely.

But let me reiterate. What I meant to say regarding the stability, is that the scientists obviously have no idea when the resources will be burnt out. So unpredictable would probably have been a better choice of words.

And fuck your strawman regarding nuclear power. Give me a decent answer to my first post or shut the fuck up.

  • @dlikon Why should I give a decent answer to a dumb response like you had earlier? Your response in a nutshell was to call me a retard.

  • im gonna come over there with 300 fire-exextinguishers and a lot of plastic bags for natural gas.

  • Wonder if someone have thought about filling the "hole" with sand to stop the burning and try to get some real use of the gas.

  • I was thinking the same thing. Maybe bomb it with fire retardants like they do forest fires.

  • Well its been burning for 35 years now. Wonder how good that cam be for mother nature. And also how much gas got wasted during this time.

  • bad ass for smores!!! LOL

  • realy does look like a gate way to hell awesome!

  • it´s a big Flaming Crater

  • time to roast some marshmallows! lmao

  • IT was a cavern of gas and its been buring for 35 years

  • Is there anyway that use this energy for good?

  • It's like a giant pilot light!

  • Thats exactly what it is. Either coal or natural gas

  • funny

  • put it out!!

  • I've been in there.

It's not that hot, your all pussy

  • Great place to dump a body.

  • lol, thx for the tip buddy:)

  • i know

  • @UKArmy08 Great place to dump everything!

  • @UKArmy08 rofl that made me laugh so hard

  • I wonder if someone has fell in it before....

  • I think that there was team of geologists that fell there when crater was created. I don't know whether they managed to get out :o.

  • when the crater was created there was no fiere. When the knew that it was of natural gas they burn it

  • I'm talking about while the hole was lit up.

  • i think its all the oil in the ground burnin.

  • it's natural gas. Not oil.

  • they ignited it on purpose

  • Has anyone looked on Google earth or something similar for this ?

  • Yes, here: 40° 15′ 8″ N, 58° 26′ 23″ E

  • Cheers bro, was lookin everywhere! :)

  • I earlier thought it was one big intense flame .

I don't see any technological reason why they can't tap that gas. If a man can stay so near it must be possible to tap that gas.

It may not be profitable however. Given the small amount of gas.(comparatively for the cost)

My guess is they went for a much larger amount of gas than this and do not drill again because they fear conditions may get worse (bigger gas escape, unstable ground to station heavy machinary etc)

  • chestnuts roasting on an open fire

  • far drop

  • thats the place with all the gas in it

  • you'd fall in there, you'd never get out.

  • you would die slow

  • may ur wishes come true one day

    Amin

  • huh?

  • What country did happen that?

  • Turkmenistan

  • anyone else's first though, "lets throw things inside of it and watch it burn!"?

  • makes me want to pee on it just see what it does its huge though u saw a man walking and he was wee bit small

  • Let's send AlGore there to stop this Global Warming thang. Maybe he can lay his fat ass on top of it and put the fire out. Then when he's a burn-out (like he's not one already), they can put a pipeline there and sell the gas.

  • genius

  • Hahahahaha. Unbelievable! You, guys, have this amazing and astonishing "formation" and the only thing you think of is politics, ideology or, even, more stupid, you think of peeing on it! Can't you just see how great this is and just enjoy it?

  • Fuck, I'd take a piss on it just to say I did. Not everyday you get to piss on a gigantic inferno for shits and giggles.

  • lol'd in my pants

  • That...is...a lot of GAS! Dang, and to think...there's idiot like THAT screwing up the economy.

  • is it hot there?

    lol

  • The hell

  • Lets hang a massive spit over it.

    BBQ anyone?

  • who wants to go down there?

  • what a waste of natural gas!

  • I was about to say that.
