@mikeymontana22 He's a Chinese boxer the sounds are part of the art. Ever since Bruce people have had a tendency to look at Kung Fu artists as supreme in the martial arts so it's hard to say if they just see the Chinese as the best or if they just really like the Chinese and wanted a Shaolin to come out on top. There is probably a bruce lee influence but it's not clear cut as to how much if any like with Forest Law in Tekken who is a blatant clone.

I've always woundered why people call this Mortal Kombat 9. I thought the story of MK VS DC was non-canon. The intro from this game is from MK7: Armageddon. So wouldnt that make this MK8?
