  • great video! i cant say that i've ever been to Samoa nor do i speak it fluently but i am proud to be half Samoan. It is one of my dreams to visit there one day. I take great pride in being half Native American and half Samoan to the fullest. Acoma "Sky City": Dawae' Samoan: Tofa

  • im half samoan but lived in samoa for my youger years from 0-15 lol...now overseas and watching vids like this just tempt me more to wanting to go bak home......thanks petaiamedia manuia le aso.

  • Petaiamedia .. wow .. haha i'm a proud petaia too :) .. petaia and mose branches lol

  • Samoa is a beautiful place.people respects each other.

i am proud to be samoan.

  • Nice vid. I've always felt slightly ignorant at times for not knowing the meaning behind what our flag represents.

  • Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. Proverbs 14:34

Righteousness is ours in Jesus name.

  • Love it!!!....

  • my mom (adoptive) says we dropped out of heaven...hey! it may be a sketchy theory but it fits...I mean where else could such wonderful people like us Samoans come from?

  • Check out Peter Ah Chings work on Polynesians. The referenced works that he cites on his website should clear things up.

  • Yall really want to know where Austronesians came from? My Ass. You guys are the educated parasites that live right around the rim area of the opening. The region where it looks like a spider. Back then you guys were called Spidernesian, but then evolved into Asstronesian.

  • Samoa moa samoa hard

  • I am glad to be SAMOAN because we've been thru alot! and in all when the creater unites with his people, he will show us what hardships our ancesters mastered in the past sum odd thousands of years. being known thru time as far as the beginning of history. Theres more to history then the average american text book called HIS-story!!!!!!!!

  • Let's not forget where the Samoans and most Pacific Islanders came from...South-East Asia. Or we could narrow it down to Austronesia to make it more generalized. In other words, Samoans are ancient Filipino mariners. Samoan tattoo and language are related to that of Indonesia & the Philippines. Especially the Samoan knife, it's related to ancient Filipino metal-work.

  • Ahh go sucka dick! Samoa is Samoa and we're proud of it. The Asians wern't the first people on this planet anyways. You can't just judge minor nations such as our small but beautiful islands of Samoa. Talofa Samoa! Pure Island Domination LOL!

100% Samoan Pride! God Bless Samoa!

  • Interesting, you tell me to go suck dick and then end with a God bless Samoa. Blasphemous maybe. Anyway, any well educated person who graduated from any accredited college can tell you personally that Samoans are descendants from South-East Asians, or should I say Ancient Filipino Mariners. And I'm sorry, but your culture is quite the entertainment, but it has absolutely NO scientific, mathematica, engineering, etc, benefits to society's woes. None. Pluse no Summer Olympic medals...weak people.

  • Please don't call us weak people because we didn't win any Summer Olympics. Our strengths are in different areas, rugby, league, boxing, aiga, self sufficiency.

We may not add to the larger body of scientific or engineering knowledge, but our people know how to live off the sea and land and live without the modern so called necessities of today. Samoan and proud!

  • With education, I think almost anybody can live off the sea and land no matter where anyone is in the world. A Pacific Islander can learn a lot from an Eskimo and certainly live off easily in severe cold weather. And vice-a-versa. In regards to any sport, I don't see any Rugby titles from Samoa, but only from a mix racial team from the All Blacks.

  • dude..seriously..go suck a dick..dont be a hater..one luv..ya ya ya youll prolly write back sayin blah blah blah..like i give a shit..suck a dick

  • Oh really, you must be a homophobe? Be sure to start off your hate on your samoan FA'A FAFINE.

  • blah blah..tsk tsk

  • Can't reason well enough. I thought so. You should try out college, it's good for you. BTW, samoans are descendants of ancient Filipino Mariners. I know the truth hurts, but hey every educated person know this, even educated samoans. I'm reaching out the ones who try to live in denial.

  • it actually doesnt cuz honestly..i really dont care and i am in college..teachin your daughter a thing or two ha..if you have..gay fuck..this conversation is ova ..ha..alu laia e ai kae..tio

  • ...???...I think you need to spell out the word "because" instead of "cuz", and "over" not as "ova". Seriously, go back to school. And be proud of being a descendant of Ancient Filipino Mariners.

  • Okay now your wrong!!! because we POLYNESIANS are not descendants of "Ancient Filipino" because DNA were tested and results were "POLYNESIANS" were from mainland "ASIA" So don't be putting us POLYNESIAN in the same categories as YOUR WEAK ASS ANCIENT FILIPINO SHIET!!!!!

  • Besides the long explanation of the matching Chromosomes of South-East Asians with Oceania, the Language is nearly the same. Here are some of the examples of South-East Asian languages, which I don't need to translate into Samoan because they're the same anyway. Api=fire, lima= hand/five, sepulu=eleven, Atuhan=gods/goddesses, tatak=body markings, walo=eight, pitu-seven, and many more. Would you like some more examples?

  • Hmmmmm you Could be right!!!!! i didn't think of looking at the language that way. NO Argue There!!!! Well it's good to know there are other well educated polynesians out there!!!!

  • I prefer educated Austronesian.

  • continued...plus, if you take a closer look at the Lapita pottery, they look almost exactly alike with the pottery found in the Philippines. And I hate to burst your bubbles, but I'm not Filipino. I too am Pacific-Islander who happens to be proud of the fact that we're Austronesians. ;)

  • "Yawn"...who the hell cares, stop trying to lecture us about our culture and where we come from,do us all a favour and get lost, you are like a pest that wont go away.

  • LOL! The truth hurts I know, but hey, it's undeniable facts. And I'm not going to apologize for telling the truth.

  • this from samoa (dot) usembassy (dot) gov: "Migrants from SOUTH EAST ASIA arrived in the Samoan islands more than 2,000 years ago and from there settled the rest of Polynesia further to the east."...located under the "History of Samoa"

  • I care...I was adopted by palagis and they can't help that they know nothing bout my culture so have to research and I think it was grate to have this on here...

I really enjoyed watching this video. After nearly 18 years of living here in the States (which I'm grateful to be a part of), my hubby is taking me and our 5 kiddies to visit the land of my birth, in May. Thanks for doing such a great job on this clip. It brought me many memories of "marching" at the beginning of each school day, and singing the national anthem. Anyhow, I look forward to your next pieces.

  • Thank you for the response!Well I'm glad that this clip was able to stir some good memories of Samoa and hopefully what you will be able to share new memories with your husband and children.

I've got a couple clips in the works so I promise they will be up soon!
