I use tappits alot. The secret appears to be to put a generous amount of veg shortening on the rolling board so that after it's cut, the gumpaste sticks to the board and with a sharp instrument (tooth pick/ needle tool, remove the unwanted gumpaste and the letters or whatever you are cutting stays on the board. You can leave them there for a few seconds to harden and you just pick them up. It works everytime with no breakages and no extra icing or corn starch to mess up the end product.
