You have a reason for responding to me, surely! Fyi, I'm from England but I speak four languages. Translate this: Eres un pendejo que no sabe como disfrutar buena musica sin hacer comentarios estupidos.
Summer 1991 and being driven home by my then gilrfriend's mum, with girlfriend in the car also. I politely ask if it's OK to have a music tape on, and my girlfriend's mum say's 'of course, that's absoluetly fine'. I hand her RIDE 'Nowhere' on tape.
Imagine her surprise/horror at the guitars in overload/feedback squall that beautifully unfolds! Suffice to say, after Seagull she quickly stops the tape and says ,what an earth is this rubbish'! HA!
All Americans? Surely you must have a tiny clue that hundreds of millions of people are Americans, from Canada down to Argentina. Or maybe you were referring to citizens of the USA? In any case, you make a pathetic, lazy comment. What kind of person makes such blanket statements.
@TheClarenceter "the infectious American comments?" What language do you speak, because it's obvious that English is not your native tongue... else you have a cognitive disorder... which is it? Both? OK, kill yourself.
Often imitated but never duplicated. Ride were on of the greatest bands if only for a moment. Check out Swervedriver, Pale Saints, My Bloody Valentine if you like this.
The genre "shoegazing" is amazing, i really hope more shoegazing bands start forming again like they did in the late 80's and 90's, latest shoegazing band i know is Suckle, who realeased an ablum in 2000
@Mayubix theres actually been a pretty huge shoegazeing revival over the last couple of years - look up deerhunter, the pains of being pure at heart, crystal stilts, no age, washed out etc.
@lambrettist2007 Is there still a scene in Portland for shoegaze revival bands? I mean, is it current? I live an hour south of Portland and want to start a shoegaze band of my own.
@NinteenEightyNothing I agree, but to refresh our memories or to introduce bands like Ride to the young youtube is very handy, it does sound better on vinyl for sure, you and I might have it, but we are a minority I'm affraid.
@TheClarenceter

Man, that bass line is awesome! I think this song is more like 60's garage rock than like 90's shoegazer.

You can see how the infectious American comments are ruining every single comment board on YouTube. Same with ANYTHING in culture.

@phallusbravo My English is clearly better than your own.
Americans do not speak or type in English at any point in their miserable, fat lives. They speak gibberish.

Psychedelic shoegazing bliss. Used to crank this up at work. Scared the suits more than gangsta rap did. :)

@Mayubix check out a band called "LSD and the search for God" they're a new shoegaze band and their guitar tone is perfect.
Also try an Australian band called "The Laurels", they're also very new, i think they only have one ep out but its quite shoegazey
