Ok, I'll compare some dates for you so it's not just a matter of opinion anymore. When did "Answer That and Stay Fashionable" come out...1995, correct? Rites of Spring released their first cd in 1985 and their last cd "End On End" in 1991, the year that AFI formed. Rites is emo, no? Rufio didn't release an album until 2001. So, I don't think emo proper is a child of pop punk, it's a child of punk and hardcore. If emo is a child of punk and hardcore then i don't see how wrong it is that rufio...
