Is it one of the most depressing and painfully irreversible endings of television history? I guess so. Snow, sad guitar theme, black daisies. Gaia will grind mankind. Everyone will perish, symbolically due to the greedy corporate intentions which mirror the 80s crisis-feeling in that time's films (The Day After), graphic novels (Alan Moore ouvre).

Unfortunately Hollywood & Mel Gibson have got hold of the story for a 'blockbuster' remake. For my money it will not hold a candle to this original.

I watched this fantastic series in the early 80s. It was thought provoking then and remains relevant today - nearly 30 years later. Bob Peck was perfectly cast and the theme was just beautifully haunting. Excellent!

I watched it when I was a kid. It made me be more cautious about peoples life and take more care of nature. This is an all time number one for me.

loved this drama as a child, I got the script, a rare find then bought the videos later on, after that I bought it on DVD.

This is a personal thing for me. I had to walk away from an Emma many years ago and her family because of conflicts of interest. She was not my blood but I cared.And the confusion that followed was down to stupidity.I think I have now learned the meaning of don't get involved.Bob Peck was brilliant in this and it is as meaningfull now as it was then.
