Hey Turban, did you here that in the last two minutes of every round EVERY PLAYERS TAG WILL BE REVEALED TO THE ENEMY TEAM. Turban I love your vids, but I gotta say at least confrontation as it is right now, is better than any other shooter for the PS3. Mainly the reason I say this is the massive amount of fixes and other things that have brought the game back to a playable level... but frankly socom 3 is a better game than confrontation. I've taken a disliking to so many cartoony-bullshit first person shooters that this is what I've come to.

@tannermann Thats what I've been hearing...If they start recording every game like COD, then I can assume that the cheating won't happen. Sure, people might rank up in private rooms or whatever, but at least I know that I can enjoy my game without some dickhead hiding in a wall and killing everybody or using codes. ive been watching your videos and thinking more and more of what made socom 1 and 2 into basically the most addicting and intense online gaming experience ever. im wary of the run button and cover system of ruining it. but really the smooth fast play, team comunication, skill invloved and competitive gameplay, being smart and tactical not just having the fastest thumbs, is what did it, not the physical game itself but the intangibles that came with it.

I play mag with move, made the game 100x better, and I don't need to wave it around, i can hold it in my lap and move it little by little, don't need to calibrate it for holding it like a gun, so, i want move support for socom, being able to run and be facing one way and shoot the corner of the screen , like you would be able to with a real gun is great, move on shooters is awesome.
Zipper are only good at experiments, have yet to put finishing touches on anything. And just around the time I typed this said, ' S2 being a prototype' so obviously share something in that regard. Games progressively got worse, nice ideas like convoy and bigger maps but suffered greatly. PS3 comes round, get CF. Great depth, huge potential, technical faults still! Blame Sony all the way. And instead of building on said potential, you get Gear.Switch of Uncharted. Shit is old, franchise is done.
@SpraxIAKS it's actually only going to be like uncharted offline, but online it's going to be like socom 1 and 2. Although of course there will never be a socom AS good as them 2, i think socom 4 will be addicting and since text chat is back in the lobby it can feel like socom 2. Foxhunt and Guidance are coming back which was released a couple days ago, which means there's more socom 2 maps.
That's not saying anything as the launch of the game was pretty damn terrible, that's a fact so who's eating what? Exactly, anyways, Socom has always been a buggy ass series that only got away with it due to being something new, being blessed by the early 2000s limits, and a relatively new fanbase, ie. my first video game. The series can't stand test of time and Zipper were never good devs with each game worse than the next. Went to play S2 again, bland. Played JA2 again, loved it. S4 will suck.

@Thrashfan21 ghost recon has been pushed to 2012 now. And The up and coming SOCOM is based om the complete SOCOM community, Delta Force, SEALS, Green Berets. I think they are goind all MW+Ghost Recon with using different teams of SF that meld into one story. I think it will be ok. Its not pure SEALS anymore.
@Thrashfan21 check out the new trailer for SOCOM 4 Special Forces gameplay. If you look and listen to the vid you can make your own assumptions. They are just calling SOCOM 4, no Navy SEALS underwriting. IMO I think they are incorporating all of the branches of SF into on cohesive story. I am kind of excited if they go that way. The SEAL's missions will be stealth and the Delta Force will be balls to the wall. Ghost Recom info from Game Informer.
@OmNomNomNomNomNomism Well in the U.S. it will be called Socom 4 U.S. Navy Seals and around the rest of the world it will be called Socom Special Forces as there will be special forces units from around the world in the game. No mention of Delta or Berets in the game so I doubt those will be included.
Socom 1 and 2 were great. They were original and fun at the same time. Socom started to go downhill at Socom 3. Once they implemented vehicles to be competitive with Battlefield, instead of dealing with the glitchers (glitch no kill) rooms, they were never able to recover. I miss the originals, man. I'm right there with you.

Push to sprint is not a good idea, as in move analog all the way forward, to sprint. Not good. Neither is the L3 button to run situation. Prefect example there with your controller. Aside from relocating the sprint to another button I think maybe the best thing to do is make it so you can run sprint, as in move analog forward only when handgun is equipped. Got get to another downed player and get ammo or pick up another gun, only have handgun left, right?

The speed of SOCOM 4 looks slow which doesn't appeal to me at all at this point. I liked it back when everyone ran the same speed.
Why the hell would they change the crosshairs? The crosshairs have been the same in pretty much every SOCOM game even trashy confrontation. I know its not a big deal but its the little details and tweeks that make it have that socom feel I think.

SOCOM died as soon as COD4 came out. That game changed the landscape of military shooters, regardless of how real or arcade it is. Whether or not you want to admit it Call of Duty and Infinity Ward destroyed the competition with that game and the expectations of future shooter games. Everything will be compared to that game from now till whenever. Thats why Zipper is doing massive overhaul's, not because they feel that Confront. was such a disaster or the name has been dragged through the mud.

I have a question Turban, when I bought Red Dead redemption when it first came out, it came with a code to unlock the War Horse. @felixofla101 As far as I know, you'll get Abandoned "ONLY" if you are one of the people who preordered the game. That doesn't mean that you absolutely have to buy the game. You can wait till you hear back from me or somebody else before you commit to a purchase. Gamestop told me that I could change my mind and they'd give me credit towards something else if I got cold feet...(for a lack of better terms) So you might want to preorder the game if you want Abandoned early.

You need to be on the Zipper team, or they need to take you in for pointers. They didn't need to do an overhaul on the game to make it sell, it was the cheaters! They need Socom 1 and 2 as a basis for the fourth one, then tweak it from there

1- I agree with you slightly on the run thing, I think the second idea with the horrible inaccuracy while sprinting, but I see the point in a run button, I mean, I'm prior military and I can't all out sprint constantly, but I see where your coming from too.
2-the fucking side to side strafe and shooting... OMFG! I'm glad you can't do that in bad company 2 ... to be continued...
However, on BC2 every soldier is like a fuckin special forces expert with every gun. but that's another game.

Hey Turban, did you here that in the last two minutes of every round EVERY PLAYERS TAG WILL BE REVEALED TO THE ENEMY TEAM. This means that there is now more of an incentive to camp so a player can see where everyone on the other team is. Also check out schwinn04's channel. There is a shit ton of new gameplay footage. Turban I love your vids, but I gotta say at least confrontation as it is right now, is better than any other shooter for the PS3. Mainly the reason I say this is the massive amount of fixes and other things that have brought the game back to a playable level... but frankly socom 3 is a better game than confrontation. I've taken a disliking to so many cartoony-bullshit first person shooters that this is what I've come to.

@tannermann Thats what I've been hearing...If they start recording every game like COD, then I can assume that the cheating won't happen. Sure, people might rank up in private rooms or whatever, but at least I know that I can enjoy my game without some dickhead hiding in a wall and killing everybody or using codes. Trust me, I will be recording my games in High Def if I suspect cheating, and I'll be reporting people with footage on a daily basis if I have to.

ive been watching your videos and thinking more and more of what made socom 1 and 2 into basically the most addicting and intense online gaming experience ever. im wary of the run button and cover system of ruining it. but really the smooth fast play, team comunication, skill invloved and competitive gameplay, being smart and tactical not just having the fastest thumbs, is what did it, not the physical game itself but the intangibles that came with it.

I play mag with move, made the game 100x better, and I don't need to wave it around, i can hold it in my lap and move it little by little, don't need to calibrate it for holding it like a gun, so, i want move support for socom, being able to run and be facing one way and shoot the corner of the screen , like you would be able to with a real gun is great, move on shooters is awesome.

Zipper are only good at experiments, have yet to put finishing touches on anything. And just around the time I typed this said, ' S2 being a prototype' so obviously share something in that regard. Games progressively got worse, nice ideas like convoy and bigger maps but suffered greatly. PS3 comes round, get CF. Great depth, huge potential, technical faults still! Blame Sony all the way. And instead of building on said potential, you get Gear.Switch of Uncharted. Shit is old, franchise is done.

Although of course there will never be a socom AS good as them 2, i think socom 4 will be addicting and since text chat is back in the lobby it can feel like socom 2. Foxhunt and Guidance are coming back which was released a couple days ago, which means there's more socom 2 maps.

That's not saying anything as the launch of the game was pretty damn terrible, that's a fact so who's eating what? Exactly, anyways, Socom has always been a buggy ass series that only got away with it due to being something new, being blessed by the early 2000s limits, and a relatively new fanbase, ie. my first video game. The series can't stand test of time and Zipper were never good devs with each game worse than the next. Went to play S2 again, bland. Played JA2 again, loved it. S4 will suck.

@Thrashfan21 ghost recon has been pushed to 2012 now. And The up and coming SOCOM is based om the complete SOCOM community, Delta Force, SEALS, Green Berets. I think they are goind all MW+Ghost Recon with using different teams of SF that meld into one story. I think it will be ok. Its not pure SEALS anymore.

@Thrashfan21 check out the new trailer for SOCOM 4 Special Forces gameplay. If you look and listen to the vid you can make your own assumptions. They are just calling SOCOM 4, no Navy SEALS underwriting. IMO I think they are incorporating all of the branches of SF into on cohesive story. I am kind of excited if they go that way. The SEAL's missions will be stealth and the Delta Force will be balls to the wall. Ghost Recom info from Game Informer.

No mention of Delta or Berets in the game so I doubt those will be included.

Socom 1 and 2 were great. They were original and fun at the same time. Socom started to go downhill at Socom 3. Once they implemented vehicles to be competitive with Battlefield, instead of dealing with the glitchers (glitch no kill) rooms, they were never able to recover. I miss the originals, man. I'm right there with you.

Push to sprint is not a good idea, as in move analog all the way forward, to sprint. Not good. Neither is the L3 button to run situation. Prefect example there with your controller. Aside from relocating the sprint to another button I think maybe the best thing to do is make it so you can run sprint, as in move analog forward only when handgun is equipped. Got get to another downed player and get ammo or pick up another gun, only have handgun left, right?

The speed of SOCOM 4 looks slow which doesn't appeal to me at all at this point. I liked it back when everyone ran the same speed.

SOCOM died as soon as COD4 came out. That game changed the landscape of military shooters, regardless of how real or arcade it is. Whether or not you want to admit it Call of Duty and Infinity Ward destroyed the competition with that game and the expectations of future shooter games. Everything will be compared to that game from now till whenever. Thats why Zipper is doing massive overhaul's, not because they feel that Confront. was such a disaster or the name has been dragged through the mud.

@felixofla101 As far as I know, you'll get Abandoned "ONLY" if you are one of the people who preordered the game. That doesn't mean that you absolutely have to buy the game. You can wait till you hear back from me or somebody else before you commit to a purchase. Gamestop told me that I could change my mind and they'd give me credit towards something else if I got cold feet...(for a lack of better terms) So you might want to preorder the game if you want Abandoned early.

You need to be on the Zipper team, or they need to take you in for pointers. They didn't need to do an overhaul on the game to make it sell, it was the cheaters! They need Socom 1 and 2 as a basis for the fourth one, then tweak it from there

Nobody will really know what he means when he says the stuff about dual prospective... It can't be that it is too hard obviously like you said Turban it was in all other socoms. don't blame zipper so much for what socom 4's become. it's mainly sony that wants to push their shitty Move and 3D products. that's why gt5 keeps getting pushed back, lbp, and other once great sony titles.
i mean, sony single-handedly ruined the metal gear series. sony kept pressing kojima to come out with a bigger and better game than the first one, when kojima didn't even want to release a sequel at the moment.
anyways, i love sony, but they have a long history of fucking themselves over.

Aint givin up on Socom yet. Just tired of wastin money on it. Been goin back to Ftb2 socom for psp, and the hackers do get annoyin but acceptable... Hated the automatic landmine hack where the hacker would trap you in a cage of landmines. (the land mines floated) lol

sup man, i kinda am a CoD guy after playing confrontation... i don't play MW2 as much as i play W@W mainly for nazi zombies so i'm only half way there... i will be getting black ops on release date and pray it has zombies but i'll enjoy it either way. socom 4 lost my interest when i saw the trailers where sneaking around was no longer a tactic and mainly run and gun...

I hate to put my complaints on here about Socom since this isn't my video, but here we go...
1- I agree with you slightly on the run thing, I think the second idea with the horrible inaccuracy while sprinting, but I see the point in a run button, I mean, I'm prior military and I can't all out sprint constantly, but I see where your coming from too.
2-the fucking side to side strafe and shooting... OMFG! I'm glad you can't do that in bad company 2 ... to be continued...
