Took a little bit to grow on me but I really dig the verse's by Mike...the chorus is a little weak but fits....Trey's riff seemed generic at first but it feels right. I hope Mike gets some more new songs with nice grooves and lyrics.
@FunnyBecauseItsTrue@scootilybootily yep, 9/8 meter kicks in at 2:32. You can count the taps in Fish's high hat with each cycle. They kick back into 4/4 at a sliver before 2:52.
I hadn't bothered to check this song out prior to the concert, so I thought it was a reworking of Moma. Then I thought it might be a Mike solo song. Simple little deal of a song, but a sweet lil' groove.
Love listening to this super loud in the car. Sweet harmony on "woods" at 4:18.
Definitely the best new song and the best show of the tour. You don't need forbin's to have a rager, this show was energetic as all get out. I don't like how trey stares at mike when he sings though, haha seems patronizing.
I crank this song on the way to my cabin in Upstate New york......Can't wait for sugar shack season. Damn, I love maple syrup too Mike!

The whole album, for those that dont have it, is just excellent.
It's ridiculous the average ratings it's gotten from critics. Basically on my first listen, I already loved most of the songs: It's THAT melodic.
I highly recommend it : )

Didn't take long to grow on me at all. But then again, I am the best at Phish.

Jesus Christ I love that groove. And given my name, thats really saying something.
I'm pretty good at counting beats and measure, but that groove in the middle.
And am I wrong, is this song in a different key on the album? Its way tighter and the cuts are sooo clean on the album.

@hewhohateseverything the little thing that Trey plays after the first chorus is in 9/8
