  • 1:30 to 2:23 your to close to the tracks you have to stay a lest 30ft away for the tracks

  • @Tinskipper 10ft maybe would be a little safer

  • no trains dont sway sidebyside thats some mested up track

  • Hello,

Come to the Depew Amtrak Station, or watch my 2nd video, now that is close. There the speed restrictions are about 50MPH on track 2, the track closest to the platform. It's alot of fun really. Great video! Love the power!

    Take care,

    Ryan

  • thats not close enough... one day, im gonna put a vid on here that no1 can top... but i gotta become not poor and buy me a nigh vision cam first LOL!!!

  • Wow, you're really close to that thing. My feeling is, if the train is close enough to squish you if it tipped over, you're too close.

  • That is fantastic move.

  • When you get hit with a loose piece of banding or a length of wood, let us see the vid of you injurers, if you live.

  • nice video ervan :D btw I have a question ... how to enter text like yours at 4:23 ?

  • @cugtekma94 Thanks, you put text in the annotations in editing the video

  • @ervans tnx

  • Do trains normally sway that much on an USA track..?

  • @sparky30368 on old tracks they do

  • @sparky30368 The jointed rail and what looks to be out of gauge track would be causing that.

  • @sparky30368 yeah I noticed that also in quite a few videos from the states. I mean I come from NZ where track maintenance is pretty poor etc. Trains still dont rock like that.

  • Please stay a safe distance away from trains. I am sure the crews don't like people standing that close.

  • Great video mate, but i think you were a bit close for comfort

  • Love it when they run long-hood forward, great vid!

    P.S. get a tri-pod, lol

  • @M1911A1 Hes using one

  • This is the longest train I've ever seen. Good job, nice and clear video

  • Why does the train move from side to side? at like 1:30

  • Iv'e been closer.

  • The track is not in the best condition, notice the locomotive movement side to side......sweet! Great video and yeah tooooo close.

  • y does the train sway side to side

  • i would touch it

  • I do like the HD camera.....

  • Where is this and who trains! Nice!

  • Thank you

  • cool video

  • Thanks

  • how did you know that train was coming? you've must of heard the horn from far away. :)

  • I live on the line

  • @ervans are they scheduled freights?

  • very good thk.

  • Thanks

  • Hmmm. Nice video but I don't think you were periliously close to death.....

  • Thanks

  • You & your surreptitious gloating ways of nearly juxtaposed proximal ambiance of a railroad track & an oncoming train. Again you compromise the safety parameters set by the standard railroad epithets of imprudent omniscient wazoos. I must reiterate that your wife must be egregiously petrified beyond confounding patient tolerance of your whimsical mind of defiant pursuits. Be it as it may others do point out your lack of safety consideration as I have. Good Luck in your maladroit obsession.

  • @DetroitLove4U AH! TOO MANY BIG WORDS! NOT MAKING SENSE!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

  • from your video, I learnt that goods trains sound and look quite the same all over the world.... a question for you? what guage is the track your rail systems operate on? this one for instance? in India, we have the standard (broad) guage which is 5'6" wide.... your videos are a real pleasure to watch... but be same while you shoot them... you really got too close on this one

  • standard guage

  • got to love it when that cab rock back an fourth its a crazy ride!

  • Fun ride

  • Where was this taken??? I think I want to move there. Lol. Great video.

  • By Salem Oregon

  • you must have frit the living daylights out of the crew thinking they'd hit you!!

  • way too close.

safety first. a loose strap or chain could ruin your day.

    cool vid tho.

  • Thanks

  • That quality is amazing! I'm subscribing right away!

  • Great work. Nice quality.

    GWI is a class act.

  • Thank you

  • Good vid. Way too close on the grade, it's easy to lose your footing in the rock!

  • I wouldn't get that close again

  • wow that was close! I would be shitting my pants thinking i would be hit :/ good thing you moved back you never know what can happen, keep up the good work

  • I was to close

  • smart choice to back up like you did:)

  • this is probably the best quality vid ive seen on youtube so far..... amazing

  • Thanks

  • amazing quality

  • Thanks

  • I've been that close to a passing train before. Coal trains, double stack intermodals, any both were doing much faster than that. If anything is wider than those boxcars, then that's something to be alarmed about.

  • not to smart you could of got stuck under the train and die

  • long train

  • Did you notice that EVERY boxcar was covered with Mexican/Salvadoran/Guatamalan/Honduran gang graffiti? Our people have had enough. This is a war against us. The politicians and media types responsible for the open borders need to be run out of town now. We want our country back.

  • amen to that

  • True, so true. trains should have graffiti detectors.

  • @CharlesALindbergh but how is spraying graffiti on a train going to help? Whatever actions people do it won't change things-except for the worse in some cases-for instance 9/11 brought stricter airline rules, misery and death for lots of people and were the troops withdrawn..no. Anarchy and Arson gets you no-where. Only idiots think it will. Just accept what is happening. I don't know the state of affairs over in the USA but i doubt it is a war against u and extreme measures have 2 b taken.

  • @CharlesALindbergh yeah but there is very little we can do abbout it

  • @CharlesALindbergh How can you tell that is was made by mexican, salvadorean gangs on the boxcars?

  • @CharlesALindbergh I noticed that a lot of the hopper cars came from Canada and that there were only six or seven boxcars.

  • @CharlesALindbergh Trying to find some nice train videos to watch with my son and have to read crap like this. Luckily he's too young to decipher this hateful nonsense, though at two years old he certainly has more intelligence than the fool who wrote this.

    Do you even speak spanish?

  • @CharlesALindbergh I AGREE!!!! Bring back our New York / New Jersey graffitti! How dare they put their graffitti on top of the graffitti that good ole criminals from the US of A apply to cars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @CharlesALindbergh Thank the ACLU they are the ones that pitch a bitch if anyone tries to retaliate.

  • Great!

By about 1;30, the loco performes some kind of interesting arabian dance, like that

    womb dance.

    See for yourself!!

  • wow that was close. dont think i could get that close to a train without being afraid i'd trip or something . amazing shot nonetheless. 5* :)

  • Wow is all I can say. That was cool!

  • The end of train device seem to be deffective.. has anyone noticed that?

  • meguelle3, I think that's just something purposfully put on the coupler to prevent any other cars from connecting if the end car comes close to another set. It could also just be a reflector?

  • I've never seen a lead loco dance back and forth so much. Those old rails have seen better days.

  • Great vid, we have problems in the UK with people trespassing on railway property to get better shots. It's lucky you still have good access, enjoy it!

  • how comes the first train is going backwards?

  • It wasn't, some engine models have a 'long nose'.

  • hah wow neat!

  • Excellant video Ervan 5*

  • Fascinating video Ervan, at that speed you probably sensed the momentum carried by these large vehicles, it also depends on which side of the tripod you were standing when filming...always be safe when filming, putting yourself in danger is just not worth it...Thanks for showing this...5* Bob

  • shit that was close, good vid!

  • That train was only going about 25MPH. it seems faster when you viewing it . for the track condition of that line their top speed would only be 25 to 30MPH. any more it would jump the track.

    Len.

  • Why you have so long trains in America ?

  • Actually that was a pretty short train. They get really long on the main lines

  • Cus they have the space for them

  • Because we can. :-)

  • There are longer trains because there is more cargo and we have strong locomotives. We move much more cargo at once in a long train than if we made many short trains.

  • u know am famous for jumping when horns happen lol i may have made to the moon for real if i was there hehe

    excellant video mate!:)

  • you were very close to the train imagine if the train had tipped over if you was right there. but nice video tho

  • Well, that was a little bit risky... but that was cool! I did that several times when I was a teen, but without a cam, unfortunately.

When I did my first train shot with my new cam, I was pretty close to the track, but not as much as you. I underestimated the distance to keep, and train's viibrations were very intense and had been transmitted throught the tripod, especially when cars had "square wheels" . The result was a shaky and awful shot to look at! lol

It was a great felling. thought.

  • How about the horn? Your ears must have tickled you! lol

  • That was the loudest horn. It shook my teeth.

  • yup very very close!!

    5 * video

  • Thanks

  • Wow I did that once in Sacramento.

  • Once is enough!

  • its always cool to get close but NEVER get any closer. I was this close to a train going 60+ mph and it blew all kinds of stuff into my eyes and my camera's lense.

  • This one was going about 40 mph and it did the same thing.
