Why are people critical of the government for being un-employed? The private sector in the US does the employing... not the government... the government tries to help but.... talk to the republicans and private sector folks....

so if a maintenance man gets killed on a university business continues as normal, but when a student gets killed all classes get cancelled whether or not anyone knew the student? Aren't maintenance men people too? How callous...I'm ashamed to say I'm an alumni.
People can still die from other things than guns. They are meant to be tools, like a knife. If the owner of these tools misuse them for evil things, they become weapons. The gun doesn't shoot itself, the knife doesn't thrust or slice by itself. This is a truly unfortunate event at OSU.

you are an idiot. Guns used in during the commision of crimes are almost always illegal and there is nothing that can be done. Also, most people with a CCW and licensed weapons are the most law abiding citizens you can find.
Guns add an interesting social dynamic to interpersonal relations in the U.S. I have personally been threatened with a gun two times in 19 years. Consequently, I am more cautious about who I piss off these days. If I was a coward like these two people were to me, I would buy handgun too.
@PenultimateRun How about we just ban all idiots who have no regard for life - that would include most of our politicians. The fact is those who obey the law and have regard for the law are at a disadvantage. This guy wouldn't have care where he got a gun because he had no regard for life or the law.
My mom worked with the guy who died first...
