I went to an African store here in CA and noticed an ungodly amount of these skin lightrening creams on the shelves. I asked the Nigerian sister, "why!!" WHY are they so obsessed with lightnening their skin.. that they are perfect and beautiful as they are, with the life supporting ORIGINAL melanin that the most HIgh gave them. She tried to front like they only use it to even the complexion, but I had already read up and knew about this. Very sad indeed. Brainwashing.

I cant believe what Hollywood's view of beauty, and society's view of beautiful people are, honestly if you find a way to mix your natural skin color and care for your skin then you might get a better skin tone, i think that if you stay out of then sun and wear sun blocker your skin might lighten but thats just me.

To some men out there. STOP encouraging women of colour to bleach their skin because you find it attractive. It's not a preference you were born with. It was ingrained into your mind through vapid advertisements, society holding up only light black people as beautiful and a history of colonialism.

Part 2. We went to France and just like the lady in the video said, my sister was the absolute center of attraction (in areas where their were African immigrants). The woman is right, they do it for the men. It is men who are very susceptible to peer pressure. In the U.S. fat women were once praised as the ideal (around the 1900) so men went after those type of women. I went to an African store here in CA and noticed an ungodly amount of these skin lightrening creams on the shelves. I asked the Nigerian sister, "why!!" WHY are they so obsessed with lightnening their skin.. that they are perfect and beautiful as they are, with the life supporting ORIGINAL melanin that the most HIgh gave them. She tried to front like they only use it to even the complexion, but I had already read up and knew about this. Very sad indeed. Brainwashing.

That's different. They get tans because they're too white and if you're too white then you could cause possible blindness because when the sun hits white pale skin, it causes a shimmering action. So they tan in order to prevent that from happening.
Even then, tanning doesn't make people black. However, bleaching the skin makes a black person white. Michael Jackson for example. He bleached his skin because he wanted to be white. This girl is doing the same thing for the same reason.

according to his Dr. ON Larry King, once the disease got to a certain point that he could not cover the white spots with makeup, they DID do a treatment which accelerated the process of his melanin disappearing so he would just be all white really fast.. Honestly, much of the time he looked like a dead man walking ( skin- wise).. I found his hands to look VERY disturbing. I thought he's look great with some spray on tan or something..even slight. Aussi, il est extrêmement rare que je ne traduise pas une vidéo, j'essaie de toucher le plus de gens possible. Si je ne mets pas de sous-titres, qui va regarder mes vidéos? Quelques francophones peut-être? En tout cas, ma démarche a toujours consisté à mettre en lumière les problèmes auxquels nos communautés respectives sont confrontées.

c cool t'as assuré. Ce reportage a été repris par TF1 il ya deux ans je crois . Arte en avait fait un long il y a ptet 5ans. ( tous deux sont passées presque inaperçu vu les horaires de diffusion)

in most modern cultures there is an overwhelming drive for women to achieve a stylized level of beauty with thin bodies, long straight to wavy hair, full lips and big breasts. ,ost beautiful women dont fit perfectly into all or any of these categories. for a woman to know that she's betraying herself by trying to be something she's not, isnt in many cases enough to make her abandone her quest for godliness

skin bleaching is just another consequence of "white supremacy". or the promotion of beauty as something exclusively white. its most prevalent in places where there has been a ruling class of whites. in the phillipines for example , dark skinned people are looked upon as ugly and undesirable by many. whereas a lighter skinned ugly woman would be percieved as more beautiful than a pretty woman who has darker skin. michelle malkin is an example of a beautiful darksinned pinay who is "ugly"
