@It's the other way around. Bump of Chicken (a band) made the song Karma for the video game. The song was used as an opening for the anime later too. Motoo Fujiwara (frontman of BOC, main composer, singer) wanted the melody to be reused throughout the game. This led Namco to ask him to make BGMs for the game, he composed about 30 minutes of BGMs for the game, including this remixed version of Karma. In the beginning, BOC was supposed to make only the theme song
Wait a minute! That song sounds like the orchestrated version of Sonic Next-Gen! That piece of crap game has ripped off another gem!? How could you, Sega!? How could you!?
By the way, two things: One, Sonic Next-Gen's plot happened to rip off Chrono Trigger's (one of my all time favorite games). Second, this song rocks. If only I can hear it in a concert hall alongside most of your other top 100 music tracks (a few I either don't care for or wouldn't fit in a orchestra concert).
Tales of the Abyss again? That's quite a surprise. And a far more peaceful song makes the list as well, how surprising. It also doubles as the Tales of the Abyss theme/opening song remix.
But taking it all in context, it retains an epic sensation in it.
Kind of how Wild Arms 4's final boss fight will borrow a bit out of the original Wild Arms 1... if you ever spy/spot it with your ears, you immediately cream yourself out of nostalgia. I swear. kind of like how P3 did it at the end.
@YoshiGLZ It's not a parody. Bump of Chicken (band that made Karma) was supposed to make only a theme song. Motoo Fujiwara, the leader of BOC, wanted the melody of Karma to be reused throughout the game. This led Namco to ask Fujiwara to compose actual BGMs for the game. Fujiwara, the composer of Karma did it because he wanted to have the melody running as a motif throughout the game
this theme is the best

This song must of been the basis for the anime opening.

The game's Japanese opening was the basis for the anime's opening, as well as the vocalless version used in the US release o the game

yeah, song is great, but there are far too many "parodies" of Karma in a single game ¬¬'

What's wrong with that? I believe it sets a really good mood for having different types of the song.

I like the Tales of Music but if you listen to this song for too long it gets a little annoying...but still a good song
