This is a place called R I S. Its their property and it is switched internally by a former Soo ( I think its old DRI&NW even) SW and they had a purple Geep in there as well. We only service this on the 529 job,but this property isnt owned by the J.
i'm lucky to have my shop on caton farm, i walk out my front door and look to my right, and about 200 ft is the j, i drive down ranor past that yard everyday.....i didnt realise that was the J in there....
@Andrewsaxamophone Here in England, it is increasingly difficult to find a steam train to restore here are nearly all of them have been taken up and it ids logistically difficult to import one. Here there are mostly diesel shunters that are delapidated now. In my opinion that is the best uses for a diesel train, shunting and back - up for the steamers.
To Hiei2k7 C.N has until december first to decide if they're gonna ruin a great terminal railroad just so they can bypass Chicago and all of the trackage.
If I were CN, i'd give serious thought to building skyward, or doing the ditch thing like UP in Reno, NV. Sure, big capital cost an all, but you essentially (building skyward) can keep the terminal road AND have your bypass....of course, if the state of IL can can Blowhomobitch then set to work.

There is also a red GE 44 tonner in there. One day it was out by the road, it was really sweet. That yard is the shit.

EJE doesn't own this area, "boxcar frank" is just an uneducated punk that doesn't know what he's talking about.
