ACORN was founded by marxists in 1970 who practiced the Cloward-Piven strategy which is a criminal effort to overwhelm government services and break the government system, in this case, the integrity of the voter rolls.

The purpose, along with getting ID requirements eliminated, is to commit voter fraud and steal elections for politicians who support ACORN's agenda, such as Senator ACORN, Barack Obama. Naturally, ACORN denies it.
