  • nice continuation on the shots! Seeing it you are able to get completion of the trip's experiences.

  • this is a step I have been thinking about for some time, I love the light weight nature of the tarp, hammock set up. being off the ground sounds great as well. good time my friend.

  • Pretty impressive setup for the first time out! Very nice job on the video!

  • @larrylynn123 Thanks!

  • You are living my Dream my friend..

Very Nice..Do you do any fishing? (Wall-eye)

  • Not really into the whole fishing thing.

  • that is pretty slick looking...whats the weight like and how small can it all pack up too?

  • It comes in at 1lb 14ounces for the hammock and the tarp. The hammock goes into a stuff sack about half the size of a football and the trap goes into a stuff sack about the size of a softball.

  • Now that is rad. I love it.

  • Thanks

  • Nice vid. may have to try a hammock setup myself.

  • Go for it you might really like it.

  • Very Nice video

Your videos just keep getting better. (Not that your other videos aint good, you know what I mean.)

How long did the hammock take to set it up?

I'm gonna go watch your Albina Yard Time lapse video now.

  • Agreed , now with some new music which is cool.

do you guys have like a blog or website?like to read up on some train hops stories

  • Yeah just google 'North Bank Fred'

  • Thanks man, getting good at the video making thing takes time.

Hammock only takes like 3 minutes to setup.

  • 3 minutes. That's fast.

1:28. I like the "whip". lol

  • Well done vid presentation.

    Lots of good info.

    DIY gear are admirably done.

  • Nice set up & great location, 5stars

  • That looks like a nice set up I have thought of trying it but I can't see it being a lightweight solution since you need to pack under quilts vapor barriers etc. it all adds up in oz.

  • This whole setup comes in at 1lb 14ounces.

I was warm and dry the whole night, I plan on never using an under quilts or vapor barrier.

Stay tuned and ill let you know how it goes with this setup or if and when I make some changes to it.

  • Sounds good to me looking forward to it.

  • @medicjimr Hammock setups weigh less than almost any tent ! Our hennessy's weigh 3.5 pounds with underpad, fly, over cover and undercover. the hennessey's advantage over others, is the winter shelter :o) Even a big 4 season full length underquilt weighs only 3.5 pounds and you need a sleeping bag anyway. Preferably down. Our -15c bags weigh 3 lbs.5oz.With an underquilt you don't need the pad or a space blanket. With this setup you will be warmer than you could ever hope to be in a tent. :o)

  • I may buy a cheap hammock just to see if I would even be comfortable in. I have spoken with some folks that cant get comfortable in. I can per see myself as one of them.

  • yes, I thought the same thing and when I tried it, all the body pain went away :o) The difference for me was like night and day. After sleeping in the hammock, going home to my bed is like sleeping on a rock...hehe! All the major pressure points disappear when you're in a hammock. It feels very good for my back, but everyones different. You never know untill you try. Most good hammocks only run around $140. Black bird...I think! Hennessy is about $140 without the shelter. :o)

  • Very good info! There is also tons of help at the hammock forums if you google that.

  • I'm already there...hehe! For quite a while now :o) Some of my vids are there!

  • Bensbackwoods has some for $20 :o)
