No, that's nowhere stated. In Final Fantasy VII - especially during the famous Inferno scene - he uses his left hand and when he holds Masamune in battle in Final Fantasy VII (not in Crisis Core or Advent Children) he uses his right hand.

@Obliviongatekeeper Oh, im sure a Katana in this length would be liftable. The question is, if it makes sense to fight with such a long blade. The Buster sword is the real pain. No one can fight with such a thing effectively. Its just beyond mens strength. In Monster Hunter is the fighting with a Sword like this relative realistic. It MAY be good against Dragons and Stuff but in a men vs. men fight its absolute useless.

@Obliviongatekeeper They couldnt move them as fast as they are, but those weapons are very usable. I myself have actually seen and held a real life Buster Sword made by a ren-fair smith. It held up to real combat (not done by me), though it was very heavy and slow. I'd imagine that after practice with it's use, the Masamune would be the same. (Though durability may be an issue.)

@Obliviongatekeeper As thestorm said, one could train themselves to lift it. However, the buster sword(original) was around 90 pounds, whereas the Buster Z was near 130 or so. Sephiroth's Masamune was only about 80 pounds, however the balance is severely off. Just means his slash would be epic
