If they change the storyline, I will be dissapointed. Zero dies in the end to save the world, that should not be changed, because he won't be coming back.

They havent said hes dead, so all we can do is speculate.

The official complete works also says hes just missing.

@Brannvarsel Manga doesn't explain anything, most of it has nothing to do with the games. Zero is dead. I highly doubt he could survive the ragnarock's explosion and burning up within the atmosphere. And whoever think's that Zero has been through worse, your wrong. He died twice before, but those were the exact same way: getting his legs blown off. Wow, that's such a hard thing to survive from when your a FREAKING ROBOT. But yeah, I guess a remake like MHX would be nice for the Zero series.

Now see what happens when Capcom messes around with Inafune's creations? Plot holes like these end up popping up everywhere.

@FlameG102 For instance: What really happened to Zero? Which ending was his real one? The ending in X6 where he puts himself away to be sealed? Or the ending Inafune intended in X5 with him simply disappearing never to be seen again? Plot hole, right there.

If you look at the big picture, Axl wasn't even a necessary character, and by Inafune's view, he never existed. That's why I hate capcom fucking around with the megaman storyline. He should just let Inafune write his own series.

X5: Zero and X fight Sigma, Zero gets taken down by Sigma (via the WORSE death ever- a BOSS EXPLOSION.) X finds Zero, and theya re attacked by Sigma's remains. X dies as well. Light fixes X, and Zero- feels that his own death is for the better as he finally sees glimpses of his creation.

X6: Zero returns, miraculously repaired. He tells X thta he repaired hismelf, but later admits to Dr. Light, that he in fact does not know who repaired him. the ending with both X and Zero, is the one that

Happens right after the game. they escape gate's lab, and X brings Gate's body with him. Zero questions this, and X reminds him that he knows the pain of loosing a friend.

Zero's ending however, does not happen right after the game, but further down the timeline. theres no plothole. just the X6 team forgot to adress WHEN Zero's ending takes place.

You DO know Inafune was involved with Axl's creation right..? in fact he freaked out when he remembered they forgot to add his scar. Also-

Inafune is not the owner of megaman. he is just a character designer and eventually, producer. he is not a writer and not the owner. Capcom can do what they want with their property. And inafune brought it upon himself really, because he should not have left the role of X series producer after X4/5

@FlameG102 Do you pay attention to ANY of the creditors of the Megaman franchise? Inafune CREATED Megaman, he wrote the story, created everything up til X5 (X6 being made without his consent OR knowledge) which is why his idea for the MMZ Series was initially different, but he had to change it due to the extension of the Megaman X Series. So yes, in a way, there were plot holes there because Inafune never got to create the series the way he had initially wanted to.

He was involved with Megaman X7. While he was not the producer, he designed Axl.

Also, he was npt the writer until the X series. and he did not create Megaman, as he himself actually acknowledges. when he joined, they already had a basic idea/design for Megaman. he simply finalized it.

He may be an importan figure in megaman, but nonetheless, he does not own it. If capcom wants to continue the X series, whether he likes it or not, they will. Its not his property. he works for capcom.

Zero's come back from the dead many times; so many that it's practically a running gag with him. His death at the end of Zero 4 was his most glorious death yet by a very large margin; I shouldn't need to elaborate on that. If he comes back to life after this, it would completely ruin the his finest hour.

I could only wish. While I will agree that Zero's end in MMZ4 was quite fated, were it not for plot devices (Dark Elf), Zero would've died at the end of Zero 3 when he destroyed his original body. Zero 4's ending was probably one of his best endings yet, and while I am saddened that Zero died, I do pray that they reincarnate him in the future with a new series. And I am NOT talking about the Biometal crap, either. Maybe the Dark Elf could bring Cyber-Elves back as reploids...who knows?
