im not familiar with the first band but i can see in the background a black metal image so if the band is black metal you obviously know nothing about black metal to judge, black metal is about the lyrics, the instruments arent good sounding because its supposed to not take away from the lyrics and convey sorrow and aggression, thus the recording in a closet sound. Black metal isnt about technique its about the message. But necrophagist is amazing.

Pretty much all metal fails anyway, except for Black Sabbath and Mountain (I don't know if Mountain is considered metal or not, but still). All of the solos you just showed were just butterfly licks. Just some scales and arpeggios repeated to no end. It's boring and painful to listen to! If anyone wants GOOD guitar solos, search for "Ten years After - I'm Going Home" here on Youtube. The intro is fucking AMAZING.

Pretty much all metal fails anyway, except for Black Sabbath and Mountain (I don't know if Mountain is considered metal or not, but still). All of the solos you just showed were just butterfly licks. Just some scales and arpeggios repeated to no end. It's boring and painful to listen to! If anyone wants GOOD guitar solos, search for "Ten years After - I'm Going Home" here on Youtube. oh and btw, most metal bands that are actually good have some of the most versatile guitarists there are. shit, Marty Friedman is a perfect example of that. he played for Megadeth, which is not as heavy as say necrophagist (but apparently still too heavy for you) and he is still to this day one of the most versatile and emotional guitarists i have ever seen. his predecessor, Jason Becker, can play anything from Metal to neo classical to straight up classical.
