  • God DAMN, Smokey is the greatest! I've been listening to his stuff since I was seven.

  • this version sounds a little different. but great.!!!

  • @MrLevistubbs

Sounds different? this is the only version I have heard.....

  • the vocal is a little different than what's on their anthology cd and a few words near the fade at the end.

  • THIS TUNE was released by Motown on August 28, 1964, and it peaked at number 35 on the Billboard Hot 100 in October of 1964-

  • been years thanks

  • I remember just loving this song because Smokey put the "12 Days of Xmas" spin on it - recursive verses - always BIG fun to sing.

A group of us would sing it with or without the music - over and over - each attempt workiing hard not to forget what came next - adding in our own little rifts...

    Oh - the good life!

  • I was about 8 years old and we little ones would always sing along when it came on the radio. No osbure lyrics, no filth, nothing make your mom say "what?" LOL

  • Yeah Yeah.....alright! I like Michael's (Jackson) version of this too!

  • pride gets broken, cruel words spoken ..

  • words being told with a little bit of soul...

  • Pride get's broken, two words spoken.

  • Great post. I got this one and Michael's version back to back on my "favorites" list

  • Cool....

  • Ha ha Ha LOL OMG! I haven't heard this for at least 20 years. You have me over here dancing in my dining room. Love it. Thanks for posting!!!

  • LOL...You're welcome. Keep dancing!!!!

  • Let's try 40 years and putting mirrors on your shoes so you can look up the girls dress. I was in 7th grade at Hess on the West Side of Chicago and the guys use to do this. bilbo2shire

  • "Would I Love You" is the b side. I'll post that later when I can.

  • > ioxxd90 > When I was in JAPAN in 1963 there

was a song that we played for hours by SMOKEY & THE MIRACLES > That song was title

"SUCH IS LOVE SUCH IS LIFE"IF YOU HAVE IT OR CAN

FIND IT PLEASE POST IT > SEMPER FI & PEACE B2U >

  • Found this 45 for $3 sealed in it's original baggie! Would I Love You is a killer!

  • Brings back fond memories. Sure miss this music, thanks for posting.

  • Yes indeed. Great memories. This music put such joy and happiness in the air with it. Those days are long gone..but thanks be to God for the good memories.

  • 5 Stars without doubt: this was a high point of the Miracles' early career, Thanks for rescuing it for 2008!

  • You're welcome. I'm glad you have enjoyed that record. It's one of my favorites by the Miracles. When we were kids (I was 7) our parents did not have a problem with us singing these songs. Nothing like some of the junk that is out today.

  • You got that right. This was the best music ever, and Smokey was the best songwriter. Pure poetry and rhythm. What more could we ask for?
