While the US/UK both started their scenes around the same time I think Japan has probably had the 3rd longest punk scene going strong. Many bands I've seen pop up in the late 70 maybe a year or so after the UK scene.
Don't for get Australia they actually got started at the same time as the U.S. their scene has never gotten much attention in the documentaries and such though.

Go to a record shop and import them... how easy is that? or you can do it yourself quicker and cheaper by just buying from Tower or HMV website.
