  • I worked with Phillipe in ,79-80 as his saxophonist and his song "Sadie" about his grandmother tore me up every time...absolutly the best

  • yes he did,its called "hats off to mama" this was the title track ,but the whole album was phillpe at his best.i saw him in atlanta 9 days before he past.thank GOD forhis talent.

  • I just got a new previously unreleased Wynn album, it was released in June 2009. It is called Soul From Sugarhill, it contains all of his unreleased tracks from 83. It's well worth a listen.

  • This song was from the 80's. Probably around 83'.

  • I was in the 5th grade and i remember seeing him and his sons perform this on a show in Detroit called the Scene a little before his untimely death.R.I.P. He was a true stylist. Where are the brothers Wynn?

  • I read in an article that both of his sons died. One by drowning and one in a drive by shooting. I don't know if this is actually true.

    he recorded in the late 70's. the cover had him as one of the Monopoly game pieces.
